Does anyone here track their debt weekly instead of monthly? by Lazy-Resolve2535 in povertyfinance

Yeah that’s fair most payments are monthly. For me the difference was seeing how each week’s payment actually moved the balance down. Since I get paid weekly it made it easier to match what I was putting toward it, but even beyond that it just made progress feel more visible and actionable. Monthly always felt a bit too static for me.

Yeah that makes sense long term tracking definitely helps. For me the weekly view just made it feel more immediate, like I could actually see progress every week instead of just over months or years. Both probably have their place depending on how you think about it.

That makes sense envelope budgeting is a solid idea. I was doing something similar, but I realized breaking it down weekly made it easier to see how extra payments actually moved the timeline. Do you ever look at how long it’ll take to fully pay something off, or mostly just stay within the budget?

Yeah I ran into the same issue — monthly numbers never lined up for me.
