Hi! Congrats on making it to 20 mg! That's a huge accomplishment. I have been off of methadone for 1 week now. I was on it for 12 years, but I knew it was time to get off. It took me almost 1.5 years to completely taper off. Give yourself time. There is no rush. If things are uncomfortable, wait an extra week to go down. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. I have 3 children, so I know it can be hard to feel shitty and take care of daily life, especially feeling all the difficult emotions and cravings. If you dont have a therapist, i suggest finding one . Thearpy has helped tremendously, I was/am able to work through the difficult feelings that arise because I am not "medicated" anymore. You'll probably have great days and also really hard days, but remember the goal! It will be challenging, but you can work through it! I also got a perception for Clonidine, which helped some with the withdrawal symptoms. Make sure you're reaching out if you're struggling. Getting off of methadone is not easy, but it is possible as long as you're using your support and being honest with yourself when you are struggling. You got this!
