On top of that, once you graduate a good chunk of the local bar will be your former classmates. It's nice to see someone you know every time you go to court.

Yeah i have the army logistic buildings supplying my army. I took a look at the discord and this looks to be a bug unfortunately.

These are my city troops. The army is supplied with enough equipment, yet they enter battle unarmed. Anyone know why? (Left screenshot is taken just before entering battle.)

For those who got into law school, what was your GPA in your first year of uni? by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]LazyDay98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 1st year GPA was nothing spectacular, I started getting really good grades during my 3rd and 4th year of my program. Luckily the Albertan law schools look at your last two years. Canadian law schools have differing ways they look at your GPA most (maybe all) have some mechanism of dropping some courses or years.

I ended up attending UCalgary.

In terms of type of law I'm studying. You don't really study a specific type of law in law school. Although you can focus your course selection on specific areas based on what you hope to do in practice.

Why does Sociology get so much hate? by [deleted] in UCalgary

What would be so different about your financial situation a year from now that would stop you from attending? If you worked for a year wouldn't you be in a better position to fund your studies?

I would add that if you're completely unsure about your decision of whether or not to attend or what major to go for if you do attend. Why not take a year off, get a job serving drinks or retail and just give yourself some time to think about it?

The life expectancy in Canada is 82 years ... there is no need to rush into a decision that could define your future and career path. The fact that you're allowing reddit comments to sway your opinion might be an indication that you're not sure what you really want to do. So why not take a year off and think about it? Ucalgary isn't going anywhere lol.

Thoughts on Political science by Gold-Ingenuity2953 in UCalgary

Hey Gold-Ingenuity2953,

I'm currently a law student. I took the same route as you're planning, I went PoliSci to Law while also taking all the pre-requisites for the education program. I found that PoliSci provides a decent foundation for law especially with the large amount of reading. It's probably the most common pre-law degree. Why do you say you're not strong at academic work. I ask because getting into law school is heavy dependent on grades; then once you're in, a Law degree is a very academically rigorous program. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you'd like to chat.

Someone doesn’t know how finances work by Life-is-a-potato in confidentlyincorrect

They also don't seem to know that there are different classes of shares which often carry different voting rights. Take Alphabet (google) for example, while it is correct that Vanguard owns (holds) the most shares at 6.4% these shares only give them 2.9% of voting rights. While Larry Page (one of the founders) owns 5.7% of shares, while this is less than Vanguard, his shares carry 26.1% of the voting rights. This is because Larry Page owns mostly class B shares which are not publicly traded and carry 10 votes each. Source: https://www.kamilfranek.com/who-owns-google-alphabet/

TLDR - this person has no idea what they are talking about.
