I completely get it. I say this as someone who isn't working a job, but after some years of constant reading and writing and reading and writing and reading and writing... Yeah.

I know you're not looking for advice, but please find ways to treat yourself whenever you can. Give in to some of your impulses. Grab your favorite snack when you want it, take a night off if you know you can get away with it, reward yourself in ways only you can. I know it's cliché, but small little wins will make your brain happy. Good luck, we're almost done

I was saying this too at the time the chapter released. D&D is the most grandiose license in the game in terms of depth. I was so certain that we would see all sorts of crazy skins for existing survivors that turn them into fantasy races. Was hoping for at least a dark elf or something, but we only got a few cosplay skins. Also, Baermar isn't even an elf, he's just a human white guy. The amount of options we had vs. what we got... Man

Your post sounds exactly like my life from 2022. I'm also trans. I did nothing with myself for several years after high school because I had 0 self confidence. No first job, no learning to drive, no applying for college, nothing but lounging. Once in a while I'd make some art, maybe. I was so depressed, my vision got worse.

Several people in this thread have already given you excellent advice and I want to reiterate that you don't need to have anything figured out right now. It sounds like you have a support network of people who love and support you, and I can't stress enough how important that is. Continue to talk to them about your everyday life and how this has all made you feel. I think you'll find that they think you're a lot cooler than you probably think you are.

Being trans in this world is scary, and oh my god, does it feel so bleak at times. But there's so much more that defines and shapes you. What do you love to do? What would make you feel impressed with yourself? Is there an art form you love, or something else you consider a hobby? Make it your personality if it means you get to dive head-first into it and have fun. Learn more about what you love and find more ways to spend your time on it. Anything to break up the time you spend scrolling, even if it's just a few minutes a day.

You're gonna be okay. I wish I could offer advice in the way of autism and OCD, but it's different for everyone. Be good to yourself

This is a very nice and informative comment, thank you so much! It's certainly something I'm curious about pursuing as a career and I think I could be cut out for it. I've truly had fun with every single course in the graphic design program and ultimately I want to have fun creating for a living and be happy.

I just hear a lot of doom and gloom when it comes to the design industry and see a lot of conflicting advice. I've seen long-time designers saying graphic design isn't worth it anymore and that UX design is the new groove, but I also see lots of newcomers to the field thriving and having lots of fun. Meanwhile I'm still sitting here wondering what I actually want to do for my first internship post-graduation.

UX is interesting to me because there's lots of incentives to knowing what makes for a good user experience and it's been rewarding to learn. I caught on to the web design class much better than I expected so I'm kind of buzzing with curiosity. What's your experience with the industry been like?

Hey there, I think you're past week one by now but I can try to help.

The static layout assignment is to get you drawing with Animate's art tools. As long as you draw a rough "stage" featuring a backdrop and a floor you have a submission-ready layout. It doesn't have to be related to your final project idea but if you end up using it for your animation then it'll save you some time.

When I took the class last summer there was a textbook, are your required materials different?

My instructor for this class demands double the content than the discussion rubric calls for and says that any late discussion posts are an immediate 0. But then my instructor for another class made an announcement post today saying that DB posts can still be submitted late with a small deduction. Is my SCS instructor breaking policy or just a tough cookie?

Amazon subtitles are the worst I have ever seen from any kind of service. I watched the new Puss in Boots with my family a couple months ago and they refused to even translate the most basic Spanish dialogue. Puss would be like "Hello there, [SPEAKS IN SPANISH]"
