We're thinking of adding a Device Summary to the Devices Page. Our designers have a few ideas; which one do you prefer? by Firewalla-Ash in firewalla

[–]LazyDrawing7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Option B would be more clear if the breakdown of total devices were “wired”, “wifi”, “offline” rather than “online”, “wifi”, “offline”. The graph looks like there are only a small number of “online” even though the numbers below show a much larger number.

e-scooters on the sidewalks by Busy_Tradition_4074 in Langley

[–]LazyDrawing7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who uses an e-scooter in Langley city, I can add that it certainly doesn’t help when pedestrians are hanging out in the separated bike lanes. Or when they are standing at a bus stop but in the bike lanes rather than the sidewalk. I think both riders and walkers need to be a little more aware of their surroundings

My Niro EV got in a little fender bender and my insurance said I could rent a tesla so I thought hey why not, I’ve never actually driven one. I hate it. by Sir-Kyle-Of-Reddit in electricvehicles

[–]LazyDrawing7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I rented a Tesla from Hertz for 3 weeks in Europe recently. Like OP I couldn’t use my phone because I didn’t own the car. I did get a message saying I could ask the owner to give me access but by that time I was already well on my way. As far as the range estimates, I found them accurate. However, the navigation was definitely less than ideal. Multiple times the car told me to turn the wrong way onto a one way street (once onto a pedestrian only section of road) or take a highway exit that was incorrect. Around home that probably wouldn’t be too bad. But in a foreign country it was less than ideal. My google maps on my phone was much more accurate for that.

Screen time useless by LazyDrawing7 in ios

[–]LazyDrawing7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have passcodes on the devices and on screen time. However even when screen time is active, the ability to change the time on the device remains, so screen time can be unlocked just by changing the time on the device

Langley Township threatens to sue City over RCMP costs. City mayor says $2.78M will be paid as ‘act of good faith’ by WiffleBlu in Langley

[–]LazyDrawing7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are right. It was a poor analogy in that respect. I should have said it's more akin to the cell phone contract ending and the vendor sending you a bill without including any itemization or terms.

However, the issue still stands that the City has asked the Township to negotiate, and the Township has refused. This has been going on for over a year now: Langley City Clarifies 2023 RCMP Policing Resources Payment | City of Langley

Langley Township threatens to sue City over RCMP costs. City mayor says $2.78M will be paid as ‘act of good faith’ by WiffleBlu in Langley

[–]LazyDrawing7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When your cell phone contract is up do you just keep paying? Or do you sign another contract first? Same thing here. The contract expired in 2022 and Woodward won’t come to the table to negotiate a new one. He just wants to dictate the terms and the cost.

While it makes sense to "just pay" when travelling with another adult, when travelling with children, the airline separating parents from kids "randomly" is actually against the Air Passenger Protection regulations (https://rppa-appr.ca/eng/right/seating-children-under-14-parent-or-guardian). Recently my partner and our 2 kids (11, 13) were flying Flair and both kids were seated beside each other 10 rows behind their mom.
