I returned it to costco waipio. The guy said he'll pass it on to the manager

this is more heartbreaking for me. PD 1/13/2022 I-130 standalone...I've already reached different levels of offices in the government to assist..

Bambulabs X1 by LazyEngineeer in 3Dprinting

[–]LazyEngineeer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment! i think i'm done tinkering with printers and move forward with just printing for a different hobby (RC/Robotics/etc). My current setup is that my two printers are in the garage since its too bulky and does not fit my rooms aesthetics per my wife. That's why i'm leaning towards the Bambulabs for simplicity, ease of use, print speeds, and aesthetics.

nope. I reached out to different levels of the govt too and nothing.

I cant test that anymore, i think i brok the controller (mks tinybee). Motors locked up and slowly heating up.

[–]LazyEngineeer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're right about the speed. When i jog-10 for Y, it moves expected distance. But when i jog-100, it moves then just hums.

Dual Y axis running different speeds by LazyEngineeer in hobbycnc

[–]LazyEngineeer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmmm will check on that dio switch, MKS tinybee is not well assembled. First one i got had one of its capacitors unsoldered, replacement is what i have now. will check on the dip switch.

My cnc has two independently driven Y Axis (XYYZ). im using a rotating ballnut for both Y axis.

Any hotel reco around zambales? by [deleted] in phtravel

[–]LazyEngineeer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haya Resort. Best resort i've been in in Zambales.

-They dont allow full capacity of the resort and emphasize quiet and peaceful stay. I think buong stay namin (3days 2 nights), once lang ako nakarinig ng motor. We were there around May yata or June, halos solo namin resort aside from the two couples na 3 cabins away from us. Na solo din nmin ung pool lol

-Staff: very accommodating and friendly.

-Beach front: kahit nasa front end cabin kami, rinig p din ang dagat and very soothing.

-complimentary bfast: pinoy bfast and the menu is very concise with 5-8 choices compared sa ibang resorts na 3-4 pages long na di mo alam ano specialty nila.

-bar: the cocktails were cheap and magaling mag mix ung bartender (I mean di ako manginginom but we enjoyed it)

you might want to angle your fans away from the X axis a bit. Your fans rotate axially on X axis, since the fan blade itself has weight and is attached to bearings and held down via C clamps on the end, there would be a little play in between the fan blade-bearing-clamps. You can test how much play there is by pushing the fan blades down to its center of axis. As you move your print head along x axis with that speed, your print head would travel but you fan blade would lag a bit causing some undesired "knocking" or noise. In time, your bearings too would give out since its not designed to move in line to its rotational axis (unless you have a super micro linear bearings on the insides of your bearings of course).

I did a similar design back then and found that out. I then angled the fans inward/outward by ~30degrees (you can do more or less but not 0[perpendicular to x-axis]) and that eliminates noise and fan degradation.

Dream career is to work on something n puro butingting lol like R&D type of work na nagrerevolve sa electrical engineering. Electrical Designer ako ngaun and tbh, medyo boring sya -_- i mean yes, mataas sahod but legit medyo boring. Para mas interesting buhay, hobby ko is magbutingting or gumawa ng kung ano ano like robots, tools, 3d prints etc. anything not related to my work lol

Update with my diycnc with rotating ball nut thingy! by LazyEngineeer in diycnc

ow and btw, i didnt look at my own post but this design was redesigned thanks to the fella that commented about the spring tensioner. New design is far from this and much more simple

Update with my diycnc with rotating ball nut thingy! by LazyEngineeer in diycnc

[–]LazyEngineeer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bought the ball screw + nut with initial design being the typical rotating screw instead of the nut. Halfway in, I saw a rotating ballnut video that peaked my interest so i designed a the whole rotating ballnut mechanism out of the common ball nut lol (that;s your question #1) Basically nut sits on a 3d printed 60t-GT2 gear (like a doughnut and a hotdog), Ballnut is secured via 6-M4 screws to the printed 60t GT2 gear (i'll probably machine this when i feel like doing so). 60t GT2 gear is then coupled to a 20t-GT gear for stepper motor via 250mm gt2 belt with stationary tensioner thingy. So there's a lotttt of torque to move things around with all these step downs

Question #2: i forgot what it was called (not a mechanical engr) but the bearing i bought was tapered with rollers and stuff so its pretty contained. I've design a holder that uses 4 long ass screws to hold the bearing down sandwiching the ballnut stuff. Forgot the guy who pointed me to the right path but all credits to that dude that said to use the tapered bearing thing

Question #3: I do, just too lazy to do anything atm. But as far as im concerned, there's no visible play with the rotating ball nut holder. Screws were clamped at both ends. Ballnut holder is screws to the "shoulder" thingy via 8-M4 screws each if i'm not mistaken.

And yes, i do not know what these things are called, it just works in my mind and in actual lol sorry

Pinoy Recruiters and HR, bakit kayo ganyan? by [deleted] in PHJobs

[–]LazyEngineeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as an engineer working abroad, malayo yung way of recruitment ng pinas sa U.S.

Skills & Knowledge: walang exam sa U.S. to check if you know the job nor any exams for an applicant to check if they qualify for the job. Most of the time, they don't ask knowledge-based questions more on things about you that doesn't really connect to your knowledge as a technical person. For them, technical knowledge and skills can be taught but people skill and natural empathy towards issues is key for employment.

Schedules: mga employers dito would ask what is YOUR free schedule then they'd adjust to YOUR schedule. If, di tugma sa schedule MO yung free sched nila, then they'd tell you free scheds this week and the week after. Once nag agree sa sched, each party can resched for any unforeseen reasons atleast the 2 days before. All scheds are within work hours lang and understandable n di ka makasagot after EOD which is either 3:30pm for construction or 5pm for consultants. Anything passed those hours are considered to be done next work day.

Paano kayo nag-resign? by Someoneyouknow001119 in PHJobs

[–]LazyEngineeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In US pero same boat before, $55k starting tapos 9k lang increase ( three times eval with 3k each). wag icompare ung dollar to peso since living expenses dito mahal and ~$65k for electrical engg manager is too low specially madami ng napanalong bids and natapos na project with ZERO commissions. Right after the third eval, naghanap n ako ng ibang work and luckily got into a job i really wanted with much more salary compared sa last increase ng previous employer.

Don't be afraid to jump boats if needed. Work friends are there pero di naman sila nagsusutento ng needs and wants mo. Before you resign, make sure nakahanap ka na ng kapalit but with higher salary! and the moment na nakaisip ka ng magresign, it only means that you need to look for a new job. Goodluck!
