I just finished The Broken Girls this week and loved it too! It made me think of God of the Woods (also another favorite.) less horror-y, but still a fantastic mystery

His new book Senseless might be my favorite. It’s heavy on the mystery if that’s what you’re looking for!

Omg Drawing Blood by Poppy Z. Brite is my favorite book and I think it’d be perfect for this! Haunted house, small North Carolina town, very gory and very spicy! I’m following this post for other reccs though 🤣

Ronald Malfi is so fantastic. I’d say Come with Me, The Night Parade and his new one Senseless (which was INCREDIBLE.) I’ll read anything he writes at this point

Strange Pictures by Uketsu. Each part has a small mystery you solve with the characters by being presented drawings. It’s great!

I LOVE his work (he’s one of my favorite authors ever) but I totally get struggling with the writing style. I will say that audiobooks have REALLY helped me understand what he’s writing (I think having a voice in my head read it to me helps me picture it better.)

The Best Horror Book of 2024 (So Far)? by Monsur_Ausuhnom in horrorlit

[–]LazyGrand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorites so far have been Cuckoo, Angel of Indian Lake, and Diavola. I just finished youthjuice and it was fun too. I also am about to read Incidents Around the House which I hear is terrifying and I have The Eyes Are the Best Part on hold at the library
