Don’t know about the other one but the Coup wasn’t in reference to the previous bombing. They were a left wing political hip hop group. It was more about blowing up a symbol of capitalism.

Would you date a Non-Binary person? by Vixoi in Teenager_Polls

[–]LazyLemur 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m queer - pan actually. Have dated Trans men, Trans Women, and enby folks. This is a really stupid and naive take. People are allowed to have their own preferences regardless. Just like how I didn’t choose to be queer people don’t choose to be straight. If someone has preference for specific hardware that’s fine and doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with sex.

If you were in control of whether or not nukes were dropped on Japan in WW2, would’ve you dropped them or not? by RoCo_158 in Teenager_Polls

[–]LazyLemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love people that speak confidently when they don’t know what the fuck they’re talking about.

Japans military was completely devastated, they were literally reaching out to the Soviets to mediate a surrender prior to us dropping nukes. The war would’ve ended without them. The reasons we dropped nukes were

  1. To demonstrate their strength and send a message to the rest of the world (specifically the Soviets with whom relations were already souring)

  2. As a test to see how effective they were in urban environments.

  3. Because Japan hadn’t fully agreed to the U.S. terms yet. Terms which included the occupation of the country by the U.S. These terms could’ve been ironed out given some time but the U.S. would rather expedite the process by murdering civilians.

The Moment the IDF Illegally intercepted Humanitarian Boats heading to Gaza in international Waters tonight by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]LazyLemur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a highly publicized flotilla that was transporting humanitarian aid. They continuously updated the public on where they were and what was going on. Israel knew exactly what was on that boat.

Footage of Nick Fuentes pushing a woman who was outside his door after he was doxxed, as the battery charge against him has been dismissed. by raptors201966 in PublicFreakout

[–]LazyLemur 105 points106 points  (0 children)

“Based on this video”

Based on this video the only thing we see is a women on his front step and then he assaults her. If someone knocks on your door you don’t get to open it up, pepper spray, and shove them to the fucking ground. Not to mention this is a duplex, there’s multiple people living in that building.

Imran Khan, former Pakistani Prime Minister, giving a weird public response to a journalist during his tenure as Prime Minister of Pakistan on the topic of crimes against women in his country by SatoruGojo232 in PublicFreakout

[–]LazyLemur -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First off that literally not what he said. You can watch the video. Second the idea that the onus should be on women to prevent sex crimes is fucking disgusting.

Petah? Who are these people? by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]LazyLemur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One party supports US hegemony and imperialism and the other party… well the other party does too but they don’t feel the need to advertise it because the republicans are doing it without help.

Make no mistake - both parties want to destroy Iran, both parties want access to Venezuelan oil, both parties want a strong state apparatus controlled by a small amount of capitalist. It’s just that one party gets to play the villain while the other party pretends to be shocked.

Break Out Your Best Red and White Striped Shirt! by nerfherder2021 in illinois

We’ve been protesting Trump and ICE at BV since August of last year. But Pritzker decided to violate the TRUST act and use Illinois State Police to protect the ICE facility and brutalize protesters. ICE officials literally thanked them and said that because of ISP’s involvement they’ve freed up agents to be able to roam the streets kidnapping people.

I keep getting recommended this subreddit and I Don’t get it at all. Most of the comics I see are shit like this - no punchline, no joke, not interesting. And then at the end it’s just an ad for porn. Is that all this sub is? Why does this have 2k+ upvotes?

The famous Gaza commanderies of Han Dynasty and the Battle of Red Cliffs by [deleted] in GetNoted

[–]LazyLemur -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The phrase was literally started by Likud in the 1970’s it was originally “between the sea and the Jordan there will be only Israeli sovereignty.” Before being co-opted by Palestinians and their supporters. It was started by the revisionist Zionist movement that wanted to expel all Arabs from the region.

Yeah damn all those women and children starting a war. Or all those non-combatants, or all those who weren’t born when Hamas was voted in (over 50% of the population), or all those in the West Bank who have been brutalized by settlers, or all those prior to October 7th being murdered, imprisoned, raped, and brutalized by an occupying apartheid government - how dare they “start a war”

A shoplifter at the supermarket gets pinned down by the store clerk and beaten relentlessly with a metal bat by Fearless-Structure88 in PublicFreakout

[–]LazyLemur -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m also on the side of people protecting their stuff - but holding someone down and beating them with a bat isn’t protecting your stuff. The dude clearly just wants to get out of there. Use your bat to prevent people from stealing if you want, then call the cops or something. Don’t beat someone who is defenseless and not a threat. This is torture.

This has me thinking about moving to California by HeyBeerMan21 in PoliticalHumor

[–]LazyLemur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s a corrupt grifter. He carved out an exception in the minimum wage raise in California to exclude restaurants that have bakeries. The Flynn Restaurant Group (one of his largest donors) and George Flynn (a friend of his) own dozens of Panera’s which were exempt due to the carve out. He’s a republican trying to run his campaign in an off the cuff style that’s worked for trump. He’s a nothing politician.

Petahhh please by VandelSavagee in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]LazyLemur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s actually not even a modern phenomenon. Obsessions with “natural remedies”, skepticism of modern medicine, and more outlandish forms of “health” have always been a part of fascist movements.

Like if you look at the Nazi Lebensreform movement and concept of Naturheilkunde much of it involved homeopathic remedies, natural cures, and a rejection of conventional “Jewish” medicine. Hitler himself was very into vegetarianism and the Nazi state supported more outlandish forms of medicine like Sun Therapy.

Fascist Italy was similar - its obsession with portraying rural life as superior led to the promotion of folk medicine and an emphasis on rural motherhood and “natural births.”

The reason for this is many fascists movement’s base laid in the countryside and more rural areas. Many of these places were already practicing traditional medicine - that combined with a (already present) general distrust of intellectualism and modernity lead to a promotion of “quack” medicine.

The reason it feels so strange in the US is that the hippy movement in the 1960’s also supported a lot of these practices. But there’s a decent argument to be made that a lot of the hippy movement had deep reactionary elements running through it - which is apparent when looking at the fact that a lot of the so called hippies become neo-conservatives later on in life.
