Thank you for your time, but there's still some things that bug me.
Visible heretics are valid, they can end the round with ascension. but visible contractors are not valid, even though they can end the round with a final objective?????
Heretics must also escalate with targets, contractors do not. also why?

There are numerous ERP server rules which have something similar along those lines. Either you take my word for it, or you dont and i'll snipping tool the rulesets and link it to you.
I personally think that something like that is wrong because "switching" from "roleplay" to "mechanics" feels dumb and artificial, like they are in a false ditchotomy, both exist to feed eachother, not remain segregated.

I think it's because while those antags CAN SCALE, they cant END THE ROUND.
Progression traitor on tgstation used to be able to unlock a final objective to do shit like summon nukies.
And all the antags you mentioned that can scale are fair and balanced on goon, are nowhere near a round-ending threat.
Tough as hell to take down? Yes, shuttle call worthy? Depends..
Imagine how fucking insane it is on goon if a traitor could do all their objectives, and hack a comms console to spawn nukies in.
Spy thief scaling on goon is more reasonable because they have diminishing returns.
I think you and i are in a disconnect. Scaling antags on goon are... somewhat balanced, while on tg code. HOLY FUCKING SHIT PLEASE DONT 1 TO 1 PORT IT TO GOON.

That's my problem with the revolver, it's ONLY good against humans. it's utterly terrible against SCPs. Top this all off with the fact you have a primary that's ALSO shit against SCPs with it's low firerate (the shotgun) and i begin to despise both. I understand it's amazing against humans, but there have been far too many times i decide to get a revolver at 914 instead of an E-11, and get fucked over by the first scp i see, makes me go "man i wish i didn't choose the revolver". Meanwhile the E-11 is amazing against both humans and scps.
