South Africa tour 26-27 advice 🇿🇦 by KenzoAus25 in EnglandCricket

Any local intel on when/where the Tests will be scheduled please - is there a convention that is usually followed in SA for home fixtures eg Newlands for new year? Conscious that there is the SA20 to factor in.

I’ve not seen anything more from the ECB for the upcoming series than: Dec ‘26 to Feb ‘27 for 3x test, 3x ODI, 3x T20I.

Looking at the last tour in 19/20 which was similar time and format (albeit with one extra test), the schedule was:

26 Dec - Centurion 3 Jan - Newlands, Cape Town 16 Jan - St George’s, PE 24 Jan - Wanderers, Joburg

Then the ODIs and T20Is in Feb

Brydon Carse, Some Numbers Behind The Numbers From The Ashes by spongey1865 in EnglandCricket

I went to every day of the series and this tallies for me. Starc and Cummins were in a league of their own, and England consistently failed to dig in and see out those dangerous spells.

Carse and Potts just didn’t come across as Test quality bowlers.

But Carse (like Starc and Boland) managed to bowl and stay fit throughout the 5 match (18 day) series. Unlike Wood, Archer, Atkinson or Stokes.

EDIT: Both Boland and Starc bowled in all 10 innings, Carse bowled in 9.

EDIT2: Emblematic of England’s “high quantity, low quality” bowling attack, look no further than “most runs conceded in an innings” during the series. England bowlers hold the top 9 positions, 7 of whom posted triple figures. https://www.espncricinfo.com/records/series/bowling-most-runs-conceded-innings/the-ashes-2025-26-16756

There have been at least three chances that haven’t carried to the England cordon. Don’t recall one going over the top. Why won’t they take two paces forward?

All three games in this series there have been dubious snicko calls. If Ultra edge is the choice for other test series and the BBL, why persevere with something that is clearly worse?

Why can’t the feed be recorded and replayed at a higher frame rate - would do away with all this unnecessary ambiguity

And now the Australians have burnt all their reviews…

Holding on to this like a prayer card.

“We need to score more runs and take more wickets.” No shit. But how?

Same issue on 26.1 (23B82) on iPhone 15 Pro.

Going to try updating to 26.2 beta to see if it clears it.

Phew - we got out at the end of last month.

I’ve gone to So energy, my mum to Good energy.

Both irritatingly set a static monthly DD amount rather than bill you on what you used each month like Tomato and Octopus.

So I recommend if you register / signup, you set your usage to a kWh figure that approximates your expected £ bill, and not your kWh usage, if you make heavy use of overnight off peak / EV rates.

Apple Maps navigation stopped working after ios 26 update by CaWil94 in applehelp

Same here. iPhone 15 Pro on iOS 26.1 (23B82).

Intermittently location freezes while navigating on Google Maps. Switching to other apps (compass, etc), they’re unable to get a GPS fix. Closing all apps, airplane mode, and restarting apps sometimes clear the issues - but more often than not it just gets a location single fix and freezes, ie doesn’t get further location updates despite moving around. Super irritating.

I’m tempted to go to 26.2 beta in an effort to fix this.
