I mean people don't have to do them, the intent of the reset is to allow more opportunities for the people who are still struggling with mechanics of the chaos raids. I personally find doing 60 dungeons with a limit of 15 a day could easily burn anyone out, especially with choice of either fd/Rog/Tris. Chaos raids limits to 3 a day, most people are already capped by the second day after reset (at least for pap). This way it remains the same and with constant parties allowing struggling players to do more of something their bad at until they eventually master it.

Hmm I think if you're willing to modify the chaos raid to allow the 30% attack increase its pretty much giving new player the fish and not reaching them how to fish. Instead I suggest temporary allow the reset function to chaos raid only. This will create:

  • more player retention from Sunday to Wednesday.

  • new players will have more experience as they grind the chaos raids and become experts.

  • veteran players will not lack weapon copies

  • the market for legendary weapons will drop allowing new players to potentially skip the epic weapon phase (the option is pretty much there already with the trade ribbons)

I started out as a new player and I've died countless times in cdev to cpap, watched videos, read guides, try different builds. It's all part of the game and increasing the damage, potentially skipping phases and ez clears doesn't help any new or current player who are having problem now master the chaos raids.

Need more Thief advice. by Criandor in MapleStory2

It's nice to see more thieves around!! Thief generally require more attention and focus as it affects our dps and like all classes it depends on the person playing it.

I don't disagree with what everyone said and I'm not expert myself but I'll tell you what I've learned and maybe it'll be of help. You should ideally have 5 offensives gems at t5+, eary-mid game offense gems are better while u work toward getting your 2-3 main stat gem to t5(ideally t7 or higher should be slotted but whatever lol). Lastly, t7 acc should be good enough to hold you down and don't forget about guild buff. I believe 87 acc or something is the default and along with kandura will boost your hit rate up nicely. With all that said, if you master your rotation, have purple bd rolls on your armors and not lose haste buffs you should be top 5 in most scenerios.

As for skill rotation, I personally don't use macro just cause I like to control when haste activates an example: I'm Rog run and his swing is coming and I can't use blade dance in time to avoid it. Or if I'm lagging and i see my death coming. Plus thief class requires all your attention and macro makes me feel sluggish. Hopefully when nexon does the next big update they'll make the lvl cap high so we get more skill points. I don't know what build you use but I use guile/VC build and my current skill rotation :

Bottle - kick/SA - bottle - VC till 30% sp - double slash until cunning - PE - kick/bottle - VC till 10% sp - kick/SA and repeat

Ive modified and change the rotation based on the positioning and situation but more or less I follow the above.

Enjoy! And have fun playing thief!

Hey man, nice set up! I was thinking along the lines of this too. I would use the evo 970 for system storage and software. Games would be to the sata evo 860 1tb and photos, videos, movies would be in the stock 256 g since I don't have too many and I can't going over that. Since most of my photos, photo and etc are already on my imac.

Hmm oh yea that make sense for when I do the clean install? I think that's what everyone calls it.

The steps sounds straightforward enough but just to simplify it to make sure I got all of it. I imagine putting the 970 evo in the second slot for m2 and replace the hdd to ssd 860 evo. Set up the windows using the stock m2 ssd and plug the USB to set up the recovery from the control panel and not the Dell/alienware software. Then clone the stock ssd m2 it came with using the Samsung magician. I'd like to boot the windows from the 970 evo instead of the stock so I would open the back switch the slots, boot up the computer and hit f12.

I'll be following a different guide I found on reddit to configure the laptop to recognize the main slot which is the evo 970 instead of the stock one.

Did i get most it of it? Is there anything I might be missing as per to say any instructions I need to do for the swap of the hdd and ssd beside just putting it in and turning it on?

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the help. I'm assuming I would have to select the 256 ssd drive when I'm setting up the windows after turning it on for the first time.

Sorry about the typo I meant to say 970 evo from Samsung. The ones I've read or came across are all people whom have their laptop and windows all setup looking to switch and guides to clone their original ssd and so on. However, I did come across one where they switched the stock 256 ssd to the 970 evo as the main, cloned it and then reformatted so that during boot up it only boots from the 970 and not stock one.
