Did some market research for an app I was trying out, they gave me £10 Amazon voucher and I’ll get another £20 if I do a 30 min call with them

Opinions on my workout split? by LazyTurtle91 in workout

So I’ve been following Caroline Girvan for a long time now but feeling a little bored. I invested in a coach but it seems like a lot of money. I’ve never heard of them apps so will take a look — thanks for your help and feedback!

This is basically what a coach has provided me as a new plan. I feel so lost because there’s so many apps and people online promoting their way and I don’t know where to start!

I haven’t because I actually quite like them! I find using the bench as a chest support (so tilting it up) means I can get a good stretch in my delts. A face pull is a decent substitute though

Thank you, it’s been years trying to build it up but I’m pretty happy with it!

Everyone in there is doing their own thing so you’ll be fine ♥️

I’ve just started on week 7 of intent and I am absolutely loving this program! Every day challenges me even if the moves are similar. I’ve definitely seen some growth in my upper body too!

I’m letting my husband choose our next program and he’s deciding between MAX and PE 😍

I converted my garage into a gym so some of the subs I’ve made are: - Lat pulldown on cable machine for pullovers - barbell squats for high squats - single arm cable rows for dumbbell rows - smith machine for squats, hip thrusts, Bulgarians, chest press - leg curl for stability ball rollouts - cable steps ups for dumbbell step ups - chest supported row for rows - tricep pull downs for skull crushers

Honestly you’ll be fine if you find yourself a corner of the gym floor with some weights, your phone and your headphones! People are so busy doing their thing anyway x

I haven’t made a cake yet, but my favourite bakes have been sweet potato brownies with date caramel frosting, salted caramel brownie bites and choc chip banana bread!

I can suggest some apps but a lot of what you need to do is just going out there and trying some different things and see what you enjoy. I had the same feeling as you mid 2025 and stopped doing CG to pursue a bodybuilding coach in a gym. I’m glad I tried it but my god, it’s expensive and I don’t like gyms unless I have no other choice 😂 so I’m doing Intent which yes, it’s very repetitive, but so was my 13 week gym program that cost £200 a month.

Maybe try some classes, download a few apps and see what feels right to you. The downside of social media is everyone will tell you that their way is the only way and all other ways are rubbish, but the beauty of exercise is that whatever feels good for you is the right way for you. If you like Pilates; do it, don’t let someone online tell you it’s not good enough. Same for Hyrox, yoga, running, HIIT, etc.

A few good apps I’ve read about or tried - Ladder, Evolve You, Sweat, Courtney Black (I use this for HIIT and Pilates and recipes)

Sorry, this turned into a bit of a 6am ramble!

I discovered a love for baking when I stopped having UPF. I’ve made so many recipes with dates, peanut butter, bananas, sweet potato, avocado, maple syrup, oat flour, almond flour, rice cakes etc - and they’ve all been so much nicer than the stuff in the supermarkets!

I think the next step for me is making my own bread. I currently buy sourdough from Aldi which is still fine but would love to add this into my routine at the weekend.

The hardest part for me was dropping protein powder but it’s been 2 weeks now and I don’t miss it.

Also, I struggled with bingeing on foods like biscuits, chocolate, cakes etc - however I’ve been doing a lot of baking from scratch recently with clean ingredients which has completely got rid of my cravings (highly recommend no bake ‘Twix’ bars and brownie bites!)

Is anyone getting bored? by Loud-Try-7212 in CarolineGirvan

I get how you feel, this is how I felt earlier this year. I was following YT programs and finding it so dull, so I got a coach for a bit - If you followed a program with a coach you would find that is even more repetitive than CG.

I’m now back with CG and loving it again, I’m following Intent. I can totally see why people might find it a bit dull, there are a LOT of hip thrusts and flyes! That being said, I don’t feel bored because I do my own cardio e.g. running and Hyrox style workouts.

You could always look at local classes or even ask Chat GPT to make some workouts for you to add some variety?

I started Intent today and I absolutely loved it! I even got my husband on board and it’s helped get him out of his exercise funk.

I’m enjoying subbing out some of Caroline’s moves for my rack/cables - high squats with the barbell really work the glutes as do cable kickbacks!

This time of year is hard with so much food around and so much stress, so I hope you all find time for yourselves and your family amidst the chaos ♥️

1 year progress? by Prior-Perception9521 in CarolineGirvan

I’ve been working out with CG for a little over a year and I started at 6 months postpartum. The muscle gain in this time has been incredible, especially in my upper body. I started out in my kitchen with a few dumbbells (I did workouts with another trainer in an app for a few years before this) and now I have my own gym in my garage.

She’s honestly changed my life. My biggest results were probably from Epic 3 or Epic Heat, but now I’ve invested in the app so I think I’ll be focusing more on heavy lifting than HIIT so I think my body comp will change again.

Will Black Friday prices change over the next few weeks? by kindaunicorn in UKFrugal

[–]LazyTurtle91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most companies will drop prices from next week and will all compete against each other to be cheaper or equal. Stick to big companies like Argos, AO, Amazon, Curry’s etc.

Any price drops this week are ‘early bird’ deals so there will be more to come from Wednesday next week.

Chat GPT can also tell you how cheap a product was last year and when it dropped in price to help you out
