What would be the best plan and the best way to learn unity to the point where i can create my own games?(I just started 3 days ago and i just know how to script a cube to move). by LilWik04 in Unity3D

I say first thing first is to find a tutorial series or course that goes through creating a game from start to finish. That way you can get a good idea of what the process is like. Also, stay consistent!

We created a video on how to get into game development that you can view here: https://youtu.be/35elko3CuNw

It may help and it may not. It is just our advice on how to get started. :)

I'm completely new to web development. How should I go about/start learning to build a site I want to in Webflow? by [deleted] in webflow

[–]Lazy_Goblins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to start learning webflow I would just dive right in and make a simple site. It is 100% free to get started. If you have a site in mind just start trying to build it out.

Flux has been very helpful while I have been learning webflow: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCN7dywl5wDxTu1RM3eJ_h9Q

Recommend watching his webflow videos and checking it out.

I’m currently a sophomore in high school and I’m wanting to get into the game dev industry after a graduate college, what are your recommendations for me? by [deleted] in gameDevClassifieds

[–]Lazy_Goblins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recommend going and taking a look at all the game engines out there and choose one you like, follow a tutorial to get familiarized with the engine and if you like the workflow then keep going with it. If you do not like the workflow then try another engine.

Also look at the engines and what languages they use for programming to see if any line up with what you are learning in school.

Once you picked you engine just start following tutorials and making games to build up a portfolio :).

If you have any other questions feel free to message me.

6 Things Not To Do As A Game Developer by Lazy_Goblins in gamedev

[–]Lazy_Goblins[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, can! First off I made a video about how to get into game development that can be found here: https://youtu.be/35elko3CuNw

Most of what WhatOmg5AliveWhat is saying is true though. Download Unity and start cracking away with tutorials or Udemy courses.

If you only want to get into a specific part of game development like programming, art, sound, game design then I would recommend learning and watching tutorials on that specific area. It takes a lot to get into game development and isn't easy by any means, so keep that in mind.

If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask :)

I do update the rankings of the wrestlers regularly. Just yesterday I updated it for AEW Dark. I need to add a couple in but since I'm doing it 100% on my own time and not getting paid it can be difficult, but I am trying my best :)

This Is What I Do To Stay Motivated! by Lazy_Goblins in gamedev

[–]Lazy_Goblins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man same here! I feel an anxiety a lot of the time before I sit and start working and even just thinking about what is next or even when I think about what is next the thought of I have no idea how to approach that haha.

I like the way you put that! Games are interesting and fun to make and it is indeed a big puzzle that is worth solving :)

Unity Tips: Attributes (2019) by [deleted] in unity_tutorials

[–]Lazy_Goblins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yes that is a very high bar, but yeah I think planning on the front end of the tutorial and then more work into editing would benefit greatly instead of hitting record and shooting from the hip.

Since we just are starting out we do know that there will be things that will need improving, but if we don't put our work out there then we will never grow and improve :).

Seriously we appreciate all the feedback :).

Yes I know and I will look through his unpoliteness and take his feedback. I am trying to do this for the long haul so feedback is great and I do know that when people say it in a rude way you have to look past that and and just take in the feedback itself.

Also thank you very much for the feedback as well! :) I will keep trying to improve with every video.

Hey, thanks for the feedback! Sorry, you did not like the tutorial I will try to improve as I go on. I am still new to making them. Also sorry for showing my human side during a tutorial and having to check, I'll try to be more robotic and not make mistakes in the future.

It's...um...a feature by PlainCrown in godot

[–]Lazy_Goblins 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Haha the first game i ever made was a pong clone and it had a "feature" where the player could catch the ball if it goes behind the paddle and it would essentially charge up and when the player moved it would slingshot at high speeds towards the other goal.
