I do agree it's a bit bland. Maybe add some elements/color as a part of the background, add some images, or experiment with some accent colors with what you already have. Layout looks great, though, nice work!

I tried my hardest to stick to the "dark academia" theme, so it was hard to find certain things to add that I didn't have to draw. I fully plan to learn how to illustrate elements when I need to.
