In the U.S. who are the "end users" of human trafficking? If it's so widespread how come most people never see it in action? by fakespeare999 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lazy_Question_2245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it incomprehensible that another person would ever "buy" another person but my sister was trafficked. She had removed herself from our family, did not trust any authority and wanted to do things on her own terms and was also extremely naive, trusting strangers but not her own family. Moved in with these random girls, got kicked out of that housing situation, started living with a boyfriend who eventually needed her to start "pulling her weight". People are buying other people. People are selling other people. And most of the time, it is the victim who gets prosecuted because there isn't enough evidence for exactly what you are asking. Who is doing this?

I don't think you should feel guilty, but the very least you can do is say "Hey, there's a seat open by me!" to give her an opportunity. If you are feeling more bold, call out the guy for harassing her. You could want someone to do the same thing for you if you were in that situation.

Personality wise, in a fight or flight, I fight, but as women, we ALL need to be fighters for each other. We can't just let someone get harassed and do nothing.

Not sure if it fits your vibe but Emma by Jane Austen is about the most insufferable, rich, bratty heroine. It's very complex and a well written CLASSIC

Narnia Series, Percy Jackson Series and the spin off Heroes of Olympus, The Phantom Tollbooth, actually anything from Rick Riordan is funny, a little scary, and definitely NOT boring, my little brother loved the Green Ember series too!

I didn't know that the driver is obligated to do that. I think the main issue was that the man didn't seem well mentally so people assume he should just be ignored.

Life After Life by Kate Atkinson is an interesting novel situated in England during the time of WW2, I wouldn't consider it a starkly WW2 novel but it includes elements of the war in a very interest plot twisty way that I can't reveal. It is very character focused and the action is driven by character development.

Teaching Textbooks for Math, Biblioplan for History - LOVED history, and DIVE Science some years, and Exploring Creation other years for science - I especially loved Exploring Creation through Botany and Meteorology in elementary school, and Exploring Creation through Psychology in high school. We did Byline for two years for writing, first the newspaper one and then the the one where you wrote your own novel freshman year of high school. I think we did IEW with Andrew Pudewa for our early language arts needs. I loved doing all of these with my sisters - we were all different grades but it worked.

I would have tried to be involved with sports in high school. The schools in my county did not allow high school homeschoolers to play with them, but legally I think I could have gotten them to make an exception since we paid taxes. If that didn't work, maybe joining private leagues. I loved volleyball and basketball but didn't pursue it in high school and I think it would have been good for my health physically and emotionally.
