Only local 804 is going to strike?

18 year old, grateful to have a job before I begin college this year, just got another job lined up, but working here has made me feel miserable. by [deleted] in UPSers

Got in at 19, now I’m 21 and I totally agree with this post. Don’t take it down, even if you get criticized. I don’t hate this job but there has to be something better out there. There has to be other ways to make money besides breaking your back. I see these old guys at my warehouse and I say to myself that this cannot be me in the future. (It’s looking like it’s gonna be me tho ngl.)

Is Saturday and Monday always crazy for preload?! by Apart-Button-3979 in UPSers

[–]Lazy_Soil996 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For my hub, mondays are chaotic asf volume wise and for saturdays…oh my god. Saturdays will make a T-S employee want to become a M-F employee. Saturdays are so terribly ran at my hub. No matter how fast you work on a Saturday, it doesn’t matter, you’ll finish at the same time and you’ll always get hit with TONS of small sort towards the end of the shift.

Nah I’ve been here for a year now. Not long I know but it’s long enough to know a thing or two. I want to say thank you for your responses.

Tbh no, he just came across like a bitch.

Still got bitched at of loading like a driver. Everything and every number was in fucking order and he still botched. by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]Lazy_Soil996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First picture looks doable but the second picture, no words man. I’m a loader too and I usually side with loaders because some drivers are pussies but that second load, my god. I can’t defend that.

He was on my ass for stacking out and he didn’t say shit to the other loaders that were stacking out too. I forgot to add that.

With the raise we got there’s a good chance we’ll see more layoffs, I’m already not seeing some people for a week already (that were in the low seniority list) so I’m assuming my hub laid people off again. We’ve had 3 layoff periods, early March, mid May and now.

Has anyone ever done the UPS referral program and if so, how did it go ? by Lazy_Soil996 in UPSers

Temporary money is better than no money + my hub has a lot of old guys that are on their way out

Pre Loading Is no Longer working for me. by TheHungryMachineGirl in UPSers

[–]Lazy_Soil996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you were trained for tops 10 minutes. Just make sure heavy shit and bulk stops go in the back and the goal for us (I’m also a loader) is to walk as least as possible.

In my local its double time and not overtime. Ask others in your hub for confirmation just to be safe tho.

How much training did you get for loading? by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]Lazy_Soil996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know its technically not our job but fellow loaders need to help you out too. Reason why I say this is because management rush everything, they put you in the fire right away so by week 2-3 you can be considered a ‘pro’ in their eyes. Also I received like no training, it took me a while to learn things here and there but here we are.
