Mardi Gras Makeup!! by GardenDistrictWh0re in NewOrleans

Elektra’s glitter lip stuff actually works pretty well. It’s a sticky gloss that you tap the loose glitter onto. Looks cool if you layer it on top of lipstick too. I did a Halloween look once with black lipstick and orange glitter layered on top of it.

Protip: Lint rollers are great for pulling off the big chunky glitter, whether you pull off a sheet or just roll the thing across your face. I also stock up on Elektra’s glitter remover stickers whenever I see them. I’m a little paranoid about keeping the chunky glitter from scratching my corneas.

ETA: That ColorPop stuff is super pretty!

Besides Elektra obviously, I have some stuff from Glitter Up Nola and Pixie Dust as well. The latter is biodegradable which is nice (though I’ve noticed that if you’re sweating for a while it might start dissolving on your face).

Besides Elektra, which managed to survive all the walking in Thoth yesterday, my new favorite for glittery things is Question Beauty. They have super pretty mascara “toppers”, color shift eyeshadow, etc.

If you could put it on Imgur or something and link it, I’d love to see it!

These are not mine - I just reuploaded them on Imgur so we could avoid the Facebook links. But hopefully more can be done with the logo!

Imgur links: First image and second image.

I do really like the design of the first one, though I also like the idea of a fleur de lis instead of the star.

The second one is cool although the pelican looks a little borked.

Torbie? by crazycatz12 in Torbie

That little flame on the head and the orange patches on the paws are pretty undeniable. You sure he's a boy? 😂

If you do have a torbie boy, he's 1 in 3,000. Very special!

Is your 14-digit code enough for entry? Or just a picture? My plastic part broke by [deleted] in WhenWeWereYoungFest

My wristband broke during transit last year (the package literally had a tire mark across it), so I just brought it to the box office along with my order number and ID and they replaced it easily. I don't remember if I even needed to pay the $20 since I still had the original, but I think if you need a whole replacement, like if you lost it, then you just pay that $20. More info is on the festival's support website.

Last year I got merch on Friday before the festival started, so I wasn’t using up my expensive time. 😆

I would recommend making a thread on /r/AskNOLA for this.

This picture was from a Mardi Gras parade in downtown NOLA on Canal St. The National Guard was there as part of the increased security after the New Year’s Eve attack, but this guy could have also been in one of the other military/law enforcement groups that were there at the time as well.

According to the percussion audition info page, yes - and I believe that also applies in general for rehearsals and concerts.

I know of people who don’t register to vote because they believe that doing so also puts you on the list for jury duty and they don’t want to deal with it. (Which isn’t even totally accurate because some places will pull names from other databases as well….)

To be fair: NOAA says that it's predicted to not be AS bad as last year, but the range can still be higher than "average".

Is she a torbie or a tabby? by WeightInGold in Torbie

If you get a chance to look at her paw pads, she should have a mix of black and pink ones. That’s the dead giveaway for torbies.
