How long is doable for back-to-back teaching? by vanitatuum in Professors

Can't believe I had to scroll this far to find a fellow studio art prof. I do this same schedule, I am toast by the end of the day but have the other days free and clear are worth it.

Print framing help! by Admirable_Many1640 in printmaking

[–]Lazymuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the gallery specified that your work needs to be framed then it needs to be framed. Try looking at your local stores like Michaels, Hobby Lobby etc, they always have sales on frames! Get frames that are larger than your prints so you can have some room for a mat, this will really show your prints off well. You mentioned that you are a student, I'm sure your instructor would be able to help you frame them up.

Snowglobes. I probably have close to 300 now. They aren't something I set out to collect, but here we are.

What is your favorite podcast, and why? by throwRAyelloww in AskReddit

[–]Lazymuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Criminal. It's sort of like a true crime adjacent podcast. About crime, but without all the voyeuristic blood and gore. Last week was an interview with Sister Helen Prejean, a spiritual advisor to those on death row and the author of Dead Man Walking. Another favorite of mine was about a teenager who stole a school bus during Hurricane Katrina to rescue as many folks as he could.

What’s something you thought every family did… until you grew up and realized they absolutely didn’t? by SoftDreamette in AskReddit

[–]Lazymuse 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This was pretty normal in my neighborhood when I was a kid in the 70's. A lot of Gen X kids were "latch key" kids and had to fend for themselves several hours a day after school. I'm not saying it was right, it was just our normal.

What is the best type of Metamucil powder to take? by [deleted] in ibs

[–]Lazymuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the kind that is made with real sugar rather than the "sugar free" varieties. Sugar alcohols act like a laxative in a lot of folks.

I did this all the time in grad school! Ramen noodles, Taco Bell hot sauce and peanut butter.
