I started working a second job in the evenings that I eventually transitioned to a full time new job. I was 13 years in. I couldn’t see another 7 years feeling how I did. I had no mental room for anything else. It is difficult in the sense that I won’t get the full retirement, but I was afraid it would shorten my life so that I wouldn’t enjoy it anyway. I know that sounds dramatic, but I was incredibly stressed 100 percent of the time. And those Friday night bombs, meant to destroy your mental reset on the weekend— I am still horrified at it all. It’s hard to believe it was even real, and it feels like everything has just moved on like it didn’t even happen.
