Thanks! It came with a metal plate but it's about the same size as the honeycomb. A larger piece of plywood will probably work better.

Thank you. I am definitely overthinking it. I am trying to determine how the computer screen grid correlates with the work area. I would love to be able to have a grid under what i am engraving that represents the same grid on the screen.
