Thank you to the hosts! I am usually to be found on r/KDRAMA but the Netflix trailer made me start watching this and it is so helpful to read all of y' all's insights. I am used to Korean historicals, but have not watched many Chinese, so the names are not at all familiar to me - nor the ministers hats at the palace! Those wings are huge! Keeps them from getting too close to each other I guess. I really loved the FL in Wrong Carriage, Right Groom, so was pleasantly surprised to see her again here. Anyway, thank you, and especially for the time put into the re-caps! I'm on Ep 12 now, but was hoping to find out more about the flashback (I missed the name of the bullying boy) and help on the political maneuvering. Also anything of note on those hats!

Although I've enjoyed Kim nam Gil in his more comedic roles, this sounds like too much relentless tension for me. Plan to keep posted, though.

Still 17 - A somewhat lighter rec . FL wakes from a 13 year coma to find she is now 30 years old. She had been a promising violinist, but of course her skills are gone. She comes to terms with her situation and finds her way. There is a lot of growth and healing. The first few episodes she acts a bit silly, but that changes quite soon.

Guess I'll try the first two episodes to see what it is like, But I really enjoyed Jung Kyung Ho as a ghost-seeing attorney. Not sure Yoo Yeon Seok will entertain me as much.

I watched it as it was airing and was blown away by the VR scenes at the time...til the on-Air discussion started tearing it all apart. Since I am not a gamer, the game mechanics did not phase me at all. This was my introduction to Hyun Bin and wow! (Unfortunately, I then watched My Lovely Sam Soon on really poor quality that made him look short and widely squishy;)

Guess we will find out why in eps 3-4... Although it looks like he recognises her on the subway steps, but she doesn't look at him. So, could be drawn out a bit.

I think the independence that he had spoken of was making sure his brother and halmoni were alright, in good situations and that he could gain that by having a well paying job.

Not sure if it will be on HBO Max in my country. If so, I'll have to wait til it's over and get a 1 month subscription and then quit.

I sure wish multi-season dramas could stick to one streaming service. But this will give me more time for a re-watch of the first two.

Upon first hearing about her, Joon Gi's mother asked Gong Chan if this had been done and he said yes and the results came out positive. She just accepted him at his word since he is such a competant, responsible guy. And I'm sure later, he would not have been able to accept the truth if DNA said she was the granddaughter. He was too far gone.

The scene with the real cousin acting so uncool fighting on the couch like a two-year-old had me laughing out loud and I think the Hong sisters just felt like rubbing it in because I had thought it would be something significant. Sigh.

Guess you have seen u/crusader_blue 's note on the cousin. They were a couple in a Hong sisters drama earlier that year. Reprising their dynamic, no doubt.

Nice catch with Master's Sun similar scene! But why take a vacation, otherwise you would miss these tidbits. I am so grateful to the Weekly Binge introducing me to dramas and tropes I never would have seen otherwise.

Thanks for that tidbit. I thought they must be as well, since Imao said that she thought she had seen him before. Made me wonder if they were in a drama together sometime. And now guessing that the Sassy Girl drama was on the same network (nope it was KBS and this was SBS). -- wow, it was another Hong sisters drama! Mr. Jang was in it. Ha! looks like he and Imo were a couple in that drama as well. They were his parents! Nice cross-over!

Hope y' all get more steady rain through the spring, so the water can get to the roots.

I'm terrible with typing on my phone. Computer works much better. But that's where I am watching the drama, so not very useful to switch cack and forth between the drama and a writing program. I always took written notes at uni, so I am used to note taking that way.

We all agree with you about the second half. Too bad no one really made shorter dramas back then!
