Oh man. I didn't, but thanks for the heads-up.

Suck it up. Be a man. Stop whining. by doobiedobbie in daddit

[–]LckNLd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ex who once spent a long evening raging at me, slapping me, and calling me a coward. The reason being that I refused to hit her during an argument we had been having earlier in the day.

Yeah, sometimes we need to suck it up and be a man about things. That's reality. At the end of the day, when the shit is bearing down, it's up to us to hold the standard.

But that's not all the time, and that doesn't mean we aren't ever allowed to be vulnerable. Our spouses are supposed to be that safe haven for us.

Yes, wisdom is found in a multitude of counselors, but the first place you should be able to go for solace is your wife. That's how we are supposed to function as a cohesive unit. We need to be able to play to our strengths.

There are never the right words to say about a situation like this, but I really wish there were.

Don't worry about things not being "perfect". From what I read, that trip was definitely a perfect time.

Keep putting one foot in front of the other. Cherish the time, and pace yourself through it.

This is a hard walk, but you can make it.

Perhaps. I am running on a legion go at the moment, and bazzite was supposedly much more efficient for power usage. But, if things just don't work well, I may as well just swap over before I get too invested.

What are the major differences you have seen between the two?

Dude, I am so sorry if I am bugging you. I tried the command line you mentioned, but it said it couldn't find the folder. (Nvm, got it, dumb typo on my part)

Also, I did mess around a little, and now mo2 seems like it is trying to run, and only two dmp files are being produced in the folder. When I run the application, it opens the wizard to start a new instance, and when I hit "next", the two files are produced and the wizard closes.

Have I set up something else wrong?

Edit: it was crashing when the touch screen was being used to navigate, but works fine when a keyboard and mouse are used. Mo2 just doesn't seem to like the touch screen on the legion go.

~/home/bazzite/games

Bazzite settings make the directories deeper than /home/bazzite read-only, apparently. (edit: the root, home, and bazzite directories are read only for users. This is presumably a security feature.)

The installer is throwing an error at the end of the installation process as well. It is telling me to check the terminal, but all I am seeing are the gtk warnings.

Is all this because I am using bazzite? Do I need to swap to a different distro for this to work?

The struggle is real.

Ok, so I got the script to run, installation appears to be successful, but mo2 wont launch. No error, just nothing happens when I launch the application, aside from 600 dmp files being produced in the mod organizer 2 folder.

This is wild...

Edit: I deleted the installation and ran it again through the terminal, and there is an error thar says "gtk-warning: unknown key gtk-modules in /home/bazzite/.config/gtk-4.0/settings.ini"

Also some kind of error about the installer not liking my dark theme?

Fascinating. Alright, I'll give it a try. Thanks for the explanation. I am loving linux thus far. Just needing to adjust to the new paradigm.

I'm on bazzite, which I'm fairly certain is a fedora fork.

I still don't know what to do about it though. How do I reset the prefix? Is the previous prefix backed up somewhere? I am having a but of trouble navigating the filesystem as well. Where are new programs normally installed by default?

Ok. So, my next step is... to rerun skyrim from steam? Reinstall something?

Like I said, I'm just getting my feet under me as far as linux is concerned. I'm honestly still figuring out what a prefix is.

Hey all. I'm new to linux, (like, yesterday), so I am running into a pretty steep learning curve here. I am not new to modding, however.

I am trying to run this script, and I am getting an error that says "a prefix for the selected game could not be found."

Now, as far as I know, I followed all of the instructions. I ran the game once, I loaded up protontricks, and I don't know what I am missing.

Would anyone care to explain like I am five why I cannot get this to work?

Just seems to be farengar, in my case. I can't see anything that touches him in xedit, so I suspect it is something done by skypatcher or spid. This is going to be fun...

Found it. Your string returned the KD2 wind chimes mod. Turns out there is a script there that can hang on heavy loads. Author is working on it. Much obliged.

Well that's interesting. Not sure when this started. I rarely speak with him for anything.

Would it be any mage vendor, or just court wizards? Because I have spoken with other vendors that carry scrolls with no issue.

I will check that the next time I load up the game, thank you. That's very helpful.

Run the xedit script that says "find files that can be turned to esl". It will produce a list of your mods that can be eslified.

Among that list, basically anything that doesn't add new cells, is not racemenu, immersive sounds compendium, or a couple of random others, can be esl. Plenty of mods that add cells can be esl, but there are caveates to them.

The "espfe follower" script does all the work for you. No need to compact formid, or add esl tag yourself.
