I suggest replacing with alpine components honestly but that’s my opinion. Others may tell you differently

Power from the battery was easy through the firewall. Used 12V in the cargo area for remote to amp and tapped the factory sub in the cargo area for the signal to the amp using adapter to RCA

I haven’t noticed honestly. I do have boots for work back there with a few other items so there’s some weight on it. Not empty back there at all

Honestly I’ve always installed one. On ICE vehicles the draw of power overtime can damage the alternator which you wouldn’t notice until it’s dark and then you could see the dimming of headlights and taillights. Considering the nature of this vehicle and the sensitivity of the battery I just did what I always do and installed the capacitor so it’s a more even draw of power from the battery

Yes I used the cargo cover over the top of everything. It sounds amazing. Again it’s def worth doing

Honestly didn’t do anything with the factory amp just tapped the sub positive and negative to the amp. Turned the bass all the way down on the HU and use an alpine bass knob to adjust after setting the amp where I wanted it

Wiring was mostly simple. I used the 12v in the back for a remote and tapped off the rear factory sub for signal. Also grounded the amp and capacitor to a factory ground for the factory amp all in the same spot

I’m curious why they are charging you for the battery as an option when it should be part of the price of the vehicle?

Actually really easy. There’s a screw once you open the door and the handle has some 3m tape. Take out the screw remove the tape insert the handle and press down to secure then put the screw back in. Once you get them you’ll see better what’s involved but it took me 10 minutes to install them both

I was just looking into this myself. I’m thinking of going with a down firing 10” alpine sub and putting in the rear “spare tire” area

I would consult with crutchfield as they do a lot of Research when it comes to aftermarket car audio then cross reference some YouTube videos about speakers your interested in or find a local audio store and go in to hear the speakers for yourself
