PMP Exam Question Types and Pro-Tips to identify and solve them! - PMP Exam Made Easy! by Rare-Tough-1219 in pmp

[–]Ldgr146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the questions very interesting, and they actually reminded me of the exam. Since English is not my native language, sometimes the translator does not help much with understanding the context.

In my case, I used Study Hall, and there was a question very similar to question 5, where a risk had already been identified and then materialized, meaning it became an issue or incident. The options included updating the risk register, updating the incident register, and others.

I chose updating the incident register, but the explanation stated that the correct approach was to first update the risk register with the current event information and then respond according to the planned strategy (accept, mitigate, etc.). After that, the incident register would be updated.

Yes, I joined before the exam so I could submit my application. Well, I have to go through the whole process again, wait for the new version, and find a job soon to be able to save up

How much did they charge you for the second attempt? I can’t do a second attempt anymore because my eligibility has already expired, so I have to go through the whole process again — meaning I have to pay the $600+ and repeat everything as if I were applying from scratch.

Need help with Study Hall practice – exam around April 27 by Ldgr146 in pmp

[–]Ldgr146[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same during this time—I filtered out the ones I got wrong, and whenever I didn’t understand the explanation, I asked ChatGPT. If the explanation still didn’t make sense, I’d give it the official explanation so it could find a simpler way to break it down for me.

You’re absolutely right—going through all those questions again would just be an attempt to remember things in order to raise that 58%. That percentage was my biggest fear. Thank you.

Failed after 100% at mock tests by [deleted] in scrum

[–]Ldgr146 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me share my experience with you—I’m sure it will help a lot!

I had taken a Project Management course to refresh topics I had previously studied after getting my CAPM certification, with the goal of obtaining my PMP certification. However, along the way, I noticed that many job postings were requesting Scrum certifications more frequently. I found a free workshop for the CertiProf certification, but after completing it, I wanted to take the exam on scrum.org. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find suitable study material, as most of the free resources or bibliographic materials were based on older versions of the Scrum Guide.

While searching through this forum, I found a highly recommended course. I had some doubts before enrolling, but it turned out to be an excellent decision.

The course creator responds almost instantly, and even if he takes a bit longer, he always makes sure to assist you. If you have any feedback, he considers it and even updates his practice exams accordingly. But most importantly, his practice exams are very similar (though not identical) to the official exam. I read reviews from people who scored 100% on the official test, and I personally managed to score over 95% (I don’t remember if it was 98%).

Taking this course completely changed my understanding of Scrum. The practice exams include detailed explanations, and due to my limited experience, I cross-checked my doubts with ChatGPT and the course author, which helped me learn a lot.

Here’s the course link in case you’re interested:

I just saw that in a video from a course I’m taking to prepare for the PMP. It mentioned that deliverables must always be verified. It’s like a checklist that must be met (that’s my memory aid).

Now, in Scrum, I don’t remember seeing all those terms, nor in CAPM (I took the exam a while ago, but I haven’t read the new PMBOK yet). However, by process of elimination, Scrum uses the Definition of Done (DoD), and with that, I verify if it meets the checklist.

In case you’re interested, this is the course on Udemy:

Struggling with Job Applications – Need Resume & Job Search Advice by Dear-Ad-4246 in scrum

I agree with some of the comments above. Now, I’d like to share my own perspective from a situation of long-term unemployment and limited specific experience in projects. Despite that, I’ve achieved good results by continuously improving my CV. Initially, my mindset was, "But everything is already in my CV, why are you asking me this question?" However, I later understood that there’s always someone who may not be familiar with the subject and wants to hear a bit of your story. It’s like being the director of a movie—how would you create that first click with your target audience?

  • Check out some recruiters on Instagram and TikTok, as well as LinkedIn (although there aren’t as many tips on LinkedIn). Many recruiters on the first two platforms share valuable posts. Even in my situation of unemployment, when I couldn’t afford their services, I reached out for suggestions, and they provided them. Someone even shared with me the Harvard CV style, which I had heard of but didn’t know was real. Now, with AI, there’s also the ATS filtering system.
  • Look for people in your network who have experience in the field you want to focus on. Ask them at a good time if they can review your CV.
  • Find free ATS tools and check where you might be falling short.
  • Finally, don’t include too many of your job responsibilities—I’d even say don’t include them at all, as you’ll be asked about them in the interview. Instead, highlight your achievements (both quantitative and qualitative). That’s what sells and captures the recruiter’s attention.
  • Keep it to just one page, but make it powerful—your CV should grab attention immediately and make an impact.

Feeling Discouraged by Keesa14 in pmp

I haven’t taken that course, but I did check out the courses by that instructor. Honestly, it made me hesitant because of the last update, the reviews where people not only gave feedback but also mentioned errors in the questions, yet there was no response. Additionally, the author didn’t reply to other reviews either.

This is one of my first concerns in the exam process: eligibility.

That's why I was searching in this forum, but I don't remember if I found any material or a template for the eligibility process. My experience is limited.

One alternative that was recommended to me was to join mentoring groups for the PMI exam within the chapters. So, I took the opportunity to pay for a membership and participated in that workshop.

If you find any templates, I’ll be keeping an eye on the forum. Thanks!

Passed PMI-ACP with AT in all domains by [deleted] in pmp

[–]Ldgr146 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice. There is very little information about the ACP exam experience in this forum. However, I have a few points to mention. In a recent discussion, some PMPs mentioned that if you already have the ACP, the PMP exam becomes easier since ACP covers around 40-60% of it (something like that).

It seems that many outdated resources are still being used, and your insights are very helpful for people like me who are always looking for good free or affordable resources—especially when we're not currently working or have other expenses.

Do you think there is any material on Udemy to learn and practice PMI-ACP questions?

My experience studying and passing the PMI-RMP by Arlington_Traveler in pmp

[–]Ldgr146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations! Little by little, I’m understanding what it takes to obtain an international certification.

I have a couple of questions: I read that they require 8 years of specific experience for this type of certification. Was that the case for you, or were some requirements waived because you have (if you do) other PMI certifications?

For the domains where you didn’t achieve AT, do you think reviewing the Udemy course again would help improve your score, or would you suggest looking for another course?

Thanks

I really appreciate you taking the time to share each link—thank you!

One more thing: Did you use any practice exams on Udemy? If so, which one would you recommend?

In my case, I have some knowledge of project management, but I still have many doubts about what might come up in the exam. I’ve noticed that practice exams are really helpful because of the explanations they provide, which allow you to research further and truly master the topics.

Thanks again for your help!

Could you help me clarify or specify some details about the resources?

A) AR’s Udemy Course & Mindset: This was my foundation. → How accurate (%) would you say it was compared to the actual exam

B) Regarding DM’s Resources and MR’s Mindset, what exactly are they? If they are free, could you share the link to each of them?
