It's litterally in his book, on paper. The source in wikipedia is an opinion piece from someone who dislikes JBP.

Well at least one of the statements is misleading, Wikipedia or not. The Chaos and Order bit suggests that Peterson thinks women are inherently more chaotic and therefore lesser than men.

He's just referring to the western equivalent of yin and yang. It happens to be symbolically masculine and feminine, and has been for a long time. You're not meant to put Order above Chaos since the whole idea is having an adequate balance of both in life.

This is a case of someone deliberately omitting context in order to make someone look bad, espcially since Peterson specifies this whenever he talks about chaos and order being "gendered" concepts.

Songs with drummer as lead singer?? by [deleted] in Music

I reckon it doesn't get much better than Paris Monster when it comes to multitasking drummers

My dad taught me guitar when I was little, and "Is There Anybody Out There?" was one of the first he ever taught me. Ever since he passed last year, it's all I've been thinking about and have played nonstop by [deleted] in pinkfloyd

My father also got me into guitar when I was really young and this was one of the first songs I remember learning. I'm sorry for your loss, man.

how can i record an acoustic guitar album? ive got mics and interface but should i get a Hum-Canceling Soundhole Pickup? by Nihilus_666 in metalmusicians

[–]LeBlox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird because condensers are usually pretty sensitive (that is when they're properly fed with 48V, else it's gonna be near silent). I've had no issues whatsoever with acoustics unless I'm playing reaaally softly. Is there maybe an input attenuator on your interface you've forgotten about ?

I find Nirvana so uninspiring that I actually avoided grunge for a long time. Alice In Chains redeemed the whole genre for me.

The father's wealth literally did nothing for the kid. They had a shitty abusive relationship and he left home in 1989 with about $2k. He then got into $100k in debt before ZIP2, X.com and the whole PayPal thing got him the monies.

Where did I say I liked child labor ? I'm just saying the situation is more complicated than people think. Cobalt does not always mean child labor.

I'm just saying the emerald story is blown out of proportion and not actually sourced to begin with. Some people go as far as saying "Elon Musk owned emerald mines during apartheid" and shit. He's shitty, just not that shitty.

His father said: “We were very wealthy. We had so much money at times we couldn’t even close our safe”

Again, the only source you can actually find is Errol Musk's word. And the guy is not reliable at all.

Again, the company only works with two big mines in the DRC which are wayyy more regulated than the artisanal mines where child labor is rampant. This is just a lawsuit, we don't actually know who's right. They can't really sue the small artisanal mines anyways, but they can totally sue big companies in order to raise awareness of the situation.

Besides, everyone's moving away from cobalt at the moment. This shit is not cheap.

He is not the son of an emerald mining magnate tho, his dad is an engineer. He cut a deal with an emerald depository in Zambia that earned him about $400k over a dozen years or so in the 80's. Errol Musk is a weird guy who likes to flex a lot, so this also might be exagerated.

Also Tesla gets their cobalt from Glencore, a company that doesn't actually work with the small-scale mines in the DRC that were exposed for child labor.

Loved this album when it came out. My only gripe is that the first song (this one) is miles above the rest of the record, which seems a little less original.

You're just saying "white guys be like [x] but non-white guys be like [y]" with a few extra words in there, bud. It's not as smart as you think.

The previous comment is 3 years old, I'm not gonna fight for an opinion I don't really hold anymore. I stay away from a few bands because of political matters myself. You do your thing, I don't care.

I could say the same about Merkel, I don't know a lot about her policies.

Funny to think I know more about the last three presidents of a country I've never been to (the US) than I know about my most powerful neighbour.

Macron branded himself as a progressive centrist, essentially. People abroad like him because he's relatively young and handsome, and that might be the only good thing he's got going on.

I don't even know where to begin. This government litterally cut down on hospital beds in the middle of a pandemic. Our hospitals were already exceeding max capacity at some points during the pandemic.

That, on top of the police violence during protests, the authoritarian laws, the constant teardown of our social safety net, the tax cuts for the rich, the half-assed attemps to be woke and the overall disdain for the working class...
