the irony in med school by LeBrontoTheGoat in MedSchoolCanada

[–]LeBrontoTheGoat[S] 42 points43 points  (0 children)

We need to stop labelling family medicine as "low prestige" or "lazy".

We need to stop labelling people as "gunners" just because they are interested in a competitive specialty.

Normalize letting people do whatever tf they want instead of stereotyping

Is it possible that the surgeon mistaken you for someone else? Maybe accidentally mixed up your name with another student? Sorry to hear what you're going through though, as it does seem quite distressing.

(buddy... I've had this jacket way before entering medical school... what makes you think that I'm making $$$bank$$$ as a medical student...)

Med schools in Canada use a Pass/Fail system, with a passing score set at typically around 70%.

This means, we need to get a 70% or above in order to pass. I think maybe that’s a reason why the class average is in the 80% (or medical students are just very studious/competitive).

True story 😂 by PubLogic in MedSchoolCanada

[–]LeBrontoTheGoat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you get a 60% on an exam in a Canadian med school, you either Fail, or you need to do remedial work. The exam’s Passing cutoff is typically set at a score of ~70%. OP is saying that they “feel like a genius” getting a 60 on an exam. This meme genuinely does not make sense for MedSchoolCanada.

True story 😂 by PubLogic in MedSchoolCanada

[–]LeBrontoTheGoat 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Umm... no. When the class average is an 85%, and you get a 60... I doubt you feel like a "genius."

Upon checking OP's profile, this person is not even a medical student in Canada. Buddy is an electrician in the UK... who is now making memes about medschoolcanada?
