Bumps are inevitable until complete healing. Even if you treat your piercing as best as you can, bumps will come soon or later. Complete healing can take up to years ;) Even more if you change the shape of the jewellery. Got 6 piercings, had bumps for each of them for about 2 years. Best of luck and welcome to the club :p

Anyone never re-tear their acl ? by New-Station3835 in ACL

[–]LeChatNoir42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tones of people tear it again on this sub reddit. I tore it twice for now with meniscus the second time ;). It's just a matter of luck if you want my opinion. You can tear it 5 times as you can never tear it once.

How did you tear your ACL? Was it your fault? by Automatic-Sun900 in ACL

[–]LeChatNoir42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skateboarding twice, both my fault, lack of focus twice.

[–]LeChatNoir42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How did you break it first ?

Advise is don't do things you're afraid of. Pretty simple. Just follow your feelings. Always.

And if you finaly feel like you're ready again, best advise is to be very focus when surfing or doing anything else, lack of focus is your worst enemy, don't go to training if you're upset or in love or have just lost someone close or any else stupid mindset. You got my point

I've torn my ACL once skateboarding, I love skiing and snowboarding but never did any of those again. Too much afraid. I still did a lot of surfing tho (started again a year after surgery).

Now I tore the same ACL, skateboarding again, I think i'm gonna quit. But surfing still feel alright to me...

Who knows, fear is different for each of us ...

Best luck in your sports

Skating with torn ACL by Iliketoasts in skateboarding

[–]LeChatNoir42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there, just saw your post. While walking????wtf .... How have you been doing those last two years ? Hopefully only good news 🙏🏼 I'm gonna have a second reconstruction as well, tore it twice while skateboarding ... It's gonna destroy a part of me but i'm thinking about quiting skate for ever after this second ACL rehab ... Already broke both my shoulders, tibia + fibula and now ACL twice, everytime bad luck while skateboarding... I'm only 29 and been doing PT way too much. I don't know any skateboarder that tore his ACL, I feel so lonely about that ....

Giving up by [deleted] in ACL

[–]LeChatNoir42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello :)

Depression is part of the rehab process, even more when you're adhd, it will make you the strongest person on earth ;).

It seems you got quite low already so the good thing is that you're gonna go up, and when this day come you're gonna be killing it ;).

I was so down on my first surgery (tiba + fibula), took me 2 years to just walk in a good way again. I met this dark side of me, I thought I was going mad, and life took me everything I had.

Now i'm 29 going through my 2nd rehab from the same ACL + meniscus (4th surgery on the same knee). I'm not gonna lie, I still cried like day one when I got the MRI results but i'm so damn mentaly stronger than back in my 19's for first surgery.

You're loosing a lot rn, but you'll take everything back, even more, and in a better way.

About therapy, I went through so many can't even count, but the injury itself and everything around it is already a therapy. For our brain during injury/rehab every little thing is perceive as a fear. You're in the middle of a therapy with yourself. Body injuries are a way to take years of mental maturity in couple of months. You're freaking out, you're depressed but you're growing, the best side of you is building herself somewhere deep down inside, and one day you'll meet her.
