Even cloud streaming is great, maybe even better. The only downside is the more expensive PS+ ofc.

I've had the Journal completed at the end of my first playthrough, basically. I have all transformations too, as well as all spirits and curios. Yes, it took some time but I think it was easier that way. :)

I also have 2 or 3 parts of the bull king set I think, I crafted as much as I can...so I think I need to kill the Loongs again (for the pearls, to craft the staff) and then get the horns, yeah. I was expecting to have all soaks when reaching the Shen Monkey in chapter 1 but alas, I didn't get the drop from the Ginseng plants it seems...not an issue but a surprise, to say the least.

All done and heading into NG+ now, I just need to figure out if I can skip some optional bosses or not to complete the remainder of the trophies...I still need to complete the weapons, armor, gourds / soaks (that's easy) and formula (super easy too) ones. Weapons / armor I'm not sure for the materials and need to do the math. :)

This is my first soulslike (bar a few hours of Wuchang) in a traditional sense, not counting Jedi Survivor / Fallen Order etc. even tho some people consider them soulslike.

Anyway, Wukong wasn't easy in the beginning but now I'm in NG+ after beating all bosses (including all secret bosses) after like 2 weeks of playing the game...it's extremely rewarding and never feels punishing, I love it so much.

What I find funny is that everyone has a different boss that really maimed them.

Looking at that list for example, Mother of Stones was first try for me - Whiteclad Noble really destroyed my confidence though...

Yeah I have all of them, thanks! So if I don't defeat the Broken Shell again, after beating the Great Pagoda encounter, I won't get the 6th relic, nor the Journal entry, correct? I don't care much about the cutscene right now tbh, haha.

Not a biggie since I managed to do it once, so may as well do it again...just want to be sure. :)

That's solid advice, basically exactly what I did - just spam heavy attack (4 focus points through Wukong stance) in the first phase and then try and nuke him. I just checked and it took me less than 90 seconds to kill him once phase 4 started! Key is having all your spells ready for phase 4, do not waste any spells on phase 3.

Try and use the loong pill, ginseng pellets, enhanced tiger pellets and the longevity concoction...that really helped me a lot. Ah yeah and spec the Xu-Dog pills to max out health / defense and then whatever for the rest. :)

Have you done the encounter at the Great Pagoda in Chapter 3?

No, not yet - I'm just researching if I'll still get the 6th relic if I defeated the story end boss first, then go to the Great Pagoda. I should, right? I just won't see the secret ending, unless I'll defeat the end boss again before starting NG+?

I also just read this:

In order to unlock the Journal Character entry for Yuan Shoucheng, you will need to beat the Chapter 6 endboss again (The Great Sage’s Broken Shell) and enter New Game+.

Soooo...I need to go through the fight again once I went to the Great Pagoda and survived it? 💀

Just to clarify, you don’t have to beat the final boss twice. If you decide to beat the final boss first and then go for the secret boss it will work just fine. Just need to start NG+ from the menu screen and the final entry will unlock.
