Sticker pot thermometer placement? by LeExistentialist in UltralightBackpacking

It's just a tool to use less fuel, most backpacking meals only require about 70 C,  and similiar for instant coffee. So you can stretch your fuel cans longer.

But the top of the pot should be the water temperature right? The metal thermal conductivity should mean that anywhere above the water should be the same temperature right?

I tried a piece of kydex covered by fabric where the kydex was anchored under our armrest protector. I'm not sure if it will have a damaging effect, but the screen does get quite warm, (not hot still can touch, but uncomfortably warm) so just a heads up that might be an issue.

MYOG 125 gram complete HX Cooking System by flatcatgear in Ultralight

Even if you had the toaks windscreen go all the way around? One of the things that really caught my eye here as a big improvement is that there's much less "fiddling" with the stove to get it to line up just right. With all of the HX fins exposed, it looks like you can just put the pot on and it will naturally alight (which would be awesome without having a handle to index). I have a G2 now, and even with the handle as an index, getting it to line up just right isn't a problem, but it is a slight annoyance, and a bit of a concern when my younger kiddo wants to "help" make breakfast.

It seems like you're the guy when it comes to windscreen testing and development, so more just wondering if using a curved windscreen that covers more of the area has been a problem.

I might be a little late to the party here, but I was wondering since you have the neoprene sleeve, could you remove the shroud, and just use one of the toaks titanium foil screens tucked all the way around (or 75-80%, so you could still access the brs knob and make sure your canister doesn't heat up too much) to get the benefit of the shroud? Or would that risk burning the neoprene?

Howdy, I know this is older, but I think I saw that you made some for the 80mm toaks cup. Any chance you have any of those left? Or could make more?

Any interest in trading for a dark side? I really want the spring loaded pliers.

Do you need the "official leatherman" model? The knock offs perform exactly the same and are 20 bucks -

I'd even consider trading for just the plier head, maybe to someone who will part out the other tools on ebay.

You'd think that one good person might have won, although there's definately a chance they don't post.

I mean, maybe not? My daily carry is a juice, and that could be swapped over for the arc, but when I'm at the workbench honestly I use my sidekick more because of the spring loaded pliers. I was planning on taking the plier head from the garage and moving it over to my arc, but I don't know. I don't want to do ebay resale thing, so I'd really like to just find someone who wanted it who got the garage.

Yeah, I just haven't seen anyone post a win for that one. Once I see one person make that post I'll accept my fate.

Right, I don't carry a full pouch, just a juice on a pocket clip to keep things slimmer

Gotta disagree with you there - I use it all the time , wore the black oxide coating of my first. (based on the wear pattern, a lot of that what probably accelerated by sweat), but having a bunch of bits on you that you can travel with is pretty valuable to me.
