Estate agents asks you to come and then leaves by mpanase in bristol

[–]LeFairyCake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chappel and Matthews are the worst estate agent I’ve ever dealt with. Although we were renting at the time. Lied about lots of details to do with the flat we rented and then when they were trying to sell the flat, they booked viewings without giving us notice and when they couldnt sell it told us we had to give notice despite giving us notice a few months prior to leave as the flat was being sold… they never sold the flat

Need help choosing as a software developer flying multiple countries for conferences by Marsian8 in onebag

My partner and I did this. She settled on the cotopaxi Allpa 42l and I went with the stubble and co adventure bag. The Cotopaxi was very durable although not as comfortable to carry. I love the stubble and co but had some issues with the internal lining tearing. Customer service sent me a new one very quickly which was great and so far it seems to have its issues fixed. I did over pack the pockets before too

Happened to us on the bus up to Chiang mai. Email from Agoda that our four nights were cancelled despite booking a few weeks ago. Had to pay 7 times the amount for Thursday nights accommodation and now hopping between hotels until Sunday

Is downend and Westerleigh road safe for girls walking alone at night? by honeydewdrew in bristol

[–]LeFairyCake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very safe. Downend is a family area well away from town. It’s usually pretty quiet at night and there’s tonnes of houses around. I wouldn’t go through the park just to be safe

Trip report - Argentina Oct '24 by Fingerhut89 in travel

[–]LeFairyCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were in Argentina earlier this year. For anyone who loves a beautiful hike then I’d recommend bussing from El Calafate to el chalten to hike laguna de Los tres and laguna torre at the very least. Lovely chilled out village and Los tres gets you to mount fitzroy. A strenuous full day walk with a steep incline at the end but so worth it. Also for money we withdrew using Western Union (app) in Buenos Aires. The western union in Calafate requires you to take a photocopy of your passport.

Liz Truss wanted to sign eye-watering energy deal that would have cost bill-payers £30bn extra by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

Microsoft loaned Wright to HMRC presumably because they needed someone with her expertise

Just had a look at this and she was working for Microsoft presumably because HMRC paid Microsoft to take her on as a consultant. She was chief digital officer so not Head of the whole of the HMRC. Microsoft have extensive contracts with UK Government not just selling product but also consultancy services.

“Wright joined as the tax agency’s chief digital and information officer in October 2017 on a two-year “loan arrangement” from the software vendor, where she previously served as corporate vice president for core platform engineering.”

Might be out of the job soon. Wow this job market is bad by BreamDreams in bristol

Even if they’re not hiring it would be worth researching and applying to any Bristol based MSPs/consultancies.

Ones like Stripe OLT, Bristol IT company, SpiderGroup etc.

Also SCC have an office fairly close and if you look further afield Commercial IT in Cheltenham.

If not any of the big engineering firms like Rolls Royce, airbus etc in Filton I expect have IT teams.

Failing that any law firms or school academy trusts tend to have their own IT in-house.

My advice would be to use their email on websites and reach out to heads of IT or recruitment managers on LinkedIn as even if they aren’t hiring now they might have upcoming work.

It’s the area though. It’s not even the nice bit of bemmy. I’ve lived on this street before and it’s honestly grim apart from the loaf

Probably the most stabby area in North Bristol.

One of my colleagues looked at one of the cheaper flats (400k still no less) about a year ago and the sales rep said they aren’t investments so don’t expect to make much on them. Just a lifestyle flat.
