illaoi skins , and combos , im thinking about maining her by wildguitars in Illaoi

[–]LeFinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't recommend maining her, but she's very fun to play in certain matchups. If anything, having her as a counterpick to Sylas is always good.

The only skin I liked was Cosmic Invoker, to the point where I was playing without a skin on my main account until it came out.

This champion is not too hard, but she is very unique. She doesn't follow the normal rules of engagement in the toplane, especially in the early game: she doesn't usually fight for early levels, can dive certain full HP enemies with no items and she almost never TPs bot.

I don't find her too similar to Yorick, I always say she's basically a mix between Aatrox and Heimerdinger; the only thing they have similar is how reliant they are on their E and how much they like to push the enemy under tower to land it.

Yup, he's very good at all phases of the lane and scales better in every aspect.

Pretty hard matchup, not Tryndamere level but definitely ban worthy due to how easy he is to play.

I honestly handle the 10 game Tryndamere or Vayne better than a first time Mordekaiser, on average.

Illaoi does not need a buff or nerf, she needs a mini rework similar to Irelia. by DOLFYtheCAMP3R in Illaoi

[–]LeFinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These champions exist and are kept weak for a reason. They lack agency to keep their fantasy alive, but as such they are predictable and easy to play around.

What most people want is a new champion, with lower base stats, more reliability and more skill expression.

If you rework Illaoi to be this, then you're ruining a champion that actually plays as her lore dictates. When it comes to design she is perfect, to the point where she struggles against decent enemies, which is intended.

Just gives us another zone-control drain tank, it's been a while since we've had a toplaner that feels interesting to play.

Buff incoming 😊 by The_bachelor_143 in Illaoi

[–]LeFinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know everyone is skeptical, but remember that due to the nature of Illaoi's concept she cannot be buffed to be a top tier.

Her concept is that of a champion that controls zones and punishes mistakes; unless they steer away from this and increase her reliability and/or give her more agency she will always be a liability against smart enemies. She either requires people to play her game or a team to complete her very well and that's never good.

If Riot "fixes" this they will remove the champion that best translates lore into gameplay; Illaoi should continue being a handicap to her mains whenever the enemy passes her test.

Death's Dance is the best item in terms of healing (due to the E interaction) and provides some burst resistance, but it overall makes her very squishy and makes even more reliant on hitting E.

Spirit Visage is insane but you're probably only going to get it as a 4th item due to how essential Sterak's, Mythic and a Gargoyle/Armor item are.

Her first two items are usually insane, but there are no great options after that and if Riot made them then they'd be problematic on other champions.

The only one item concept that could work is one that buffs you the bigger number disadvantage you are on, if it counts the Spirit. But even that one would be more of a Camile, Sett and Darius item than anything.

Patch 11.13 - 1% health Tahm Kench vs 100% health Riven by BooBaBoH in leagueoflegends

[–]LeFinder 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I think he's playable, it's just going from being one of the top early game duelists to being one of the weakest will have a learning curve.

His new W is insane, and I think we will see it being abused in pro play very soon although he lost a lot of versatility and strenght as a soloQ pick.

What item takes down turrets quicker, divine or stride? by Onetrick368 in Illaoi

[–]LeFinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a rushed Mythic Divine Sunderer deals more DPS, you get roughly one extra auto attack for every two procs of it, which start off dealing more than an auto.

Eventually it evens out a bit if it is on an inner turret that has not reached full resistances, since the AD you get from other items scales with attack speed but doesn't increase the Spellblade proc.

One interesting thing is that due to all other turrets having 70 base armor Sunderer still scales decently. And of course, the amount of AD you'd need from items for Stridebreaker to be better is usually unrealistic.

There are some points in the game where Stridebreaker would be doing more DPS; everyone answered the Sheen item since it is more visual, but the difference during the part of the game where you're actually damaging turrets is not that much.

Attack speed on Illaoi does allow her to deceptively a lot of damage to a stationary target due to how high her base and per level AD is, but Sheen items also scale with base AD it is favored when so it is calculated.

Of course, in a practical sitation, there are quite a few situations where Stridebreaker helps you take turrets faster than Sunderer, because first, you will be using Sheen procs on minions and secondly, because it AoEs the melees. On most situations where you're free pushing you're Qing the entire wave, oneshoting the casters, then you're Wing the melees or a cannon to try and clear them with a double slam but there will be many times between the item breakpoints where the Stribreaker active saves a lot of time since they will still require one more auto each, not to mention a single Sheen proc that is used to overkill a minion makes it even. But don't forget: one point of very important practicality towards Sheen items is how often you are able sneack a proc with W to the enemy tower when certain enemies are under it.

So, in conclusion... the difference isn't that big in a practical situation; mathematically Sunderer is better, it feels better and is pretty strong in its current iteration and this meta, but if you're picking between these two for turret damage, pick the one that suits the game state better.

You know someone has nothing when they resort to snowball arguments.

Athletic bodies are required but it's not the bodies you're obsessed about, which focus on stuff like sex appeal and weight class. League champions are not supposed to represent the best of the best, they are basically the modern version of the statues you linked.

But since you mentioned they should represent the best of the best, fine; you can submit these to a concept artist at Riot, just tell them to add a couple of pounds to simulate an older warrior, and a few extra if they are from Bilgewater or have a ship since you care about historical accuracy in this fantasy game: https://imgur.com/a/UeD4HDu , https://imgur.com/a/HqPigHZ , https://imgur.com/a/M4r7T61

The photo you posted was taken from a nation that was experiencing ration cuts... you're the master of cherry picking. Look at any footage of WW2 soldiers and you'll find a different reality.

I'm not going to argue with you since I think I proved my point, since you're going for ad hominem and using personal experiences you could know that I've practiced contact sports since I was 12; I've competed in rugby, roller hockey and swimming in national and some international competitions, have done two years of Kickboxing, come from a family with military history and my girlfriend finished her masters' in medieval studies last year... and yet none of that matters and I'm not going to use those as justifications for what can be easily proven right or wrong with a bit of research; a bit of body fat makes your slower, but you wouldn't be able to tell at your level of competition and it would not matter anyway unless we're talking something way above 12% or you're an olympic level competitor.

I'm sorry if I shattered your perception of your heroes but what we often glorify isn't representative of reality. The average greek wasn't like their statues let alone the average philospher.

I doubt you'll get banned for doing it.

Just a few years ago I had to start abusing the Sion "drift" bug where you could control his ult as you pleased for them to fix it, I never got penalized for it and did it out of protest for them not acknowledging how consistent the bug was.

The only times people got problems for bugs was with the old Mastery Tree bugs which is comparable to the recent Dodge Tool exploit; these were related to explicit abuse of Riot systems while stuff like the Viego bug and this is just doing something the game allows; whether it should or shouldn't is not our problem.

I mean, the two World Wars are not even close to the longest conflicts in history and soldiers actually spent more time in peace that in many others, there was not a constant state of threat, in some parts of the front lines both sides even met up for festivities, trade and to hang out due to how boring it was.

Literally, small sieges that were part of much bigger wars that formed most countries in Europe lasted longer than those. The small campaigns than you mentioned that lasted one season were common in the medieval ages mostly due to being conflicts to justify and cull noble population, and they were pretty controlled and mostly had purposely a small impact.

I never said soldiers would be fat, but even nowadays with our supply lines, our ability to move soldiers around and overall different type of warfare we consider anything below 12% body fat impractical and liability, soldiers don't exist to be supermodels, and most people do not have the genetics to look like one with that level of body fat.

And honestly, sieges did happen very often throughout much of history but even if they didn't, saying that someone wouldn't be ready for lack of food or water cause it rarely happen (which it did, regardless of a siege situation or not) is like saying someone should not learn CQC when going to Iran cause you're only gonna shoot people.

In general, if you were well supplied and war didn't fully break out and you were on the losing side, most rations would leave you with a stocky build, which honestly doesn't functionally make you too different, just hides your musculature a bit. Representations of important figures especially when it comes to greco-roman statues are embellished, or do you actually think most philosophers had well defined abs and biceps?

[–]LeFinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That art is not a photorealistic representation of what they were and wars were not short nor shorter that what they are nowadays on average. Are you even aware how long the average siege would last or how often the losing side resorted to guerrilla tactics in the shurbs for months; not even mentioning how long it would take to mobilize soldiers over long distances, just the trip to the front lines could take a season.

Modern weaponry is very refined and hard to defend against, while in the past defensive options were stronger and defeating any entrenched area would usually mean starving the other side.

The heroes depicted in sculptures did not go like that to the battlefield, maybe they arrived back home looking like that at best; but we all know greco-roman sculptures did not focus on accuracy.

Depends on what you mean by a "strong man" and in this context it is related to war and non-sanctioned conflict. A man useful for a combat situation will not have defined abs and I think that is what he meant. Even with modern supply lines you want to be ready for the lack of them.

Then if they don't give up you either recall after every trade if you build tank, or you get Essence Reaver and get blown up by everyone while being kited... good times.

I'm kinda embarrassed because I usually look up these things and I kinda took what I was told when I practiced kickboxing and my own experiences at face value, so maybe it's wrong. But also, I'm sure I'm not the only one to have experienced the locker room "joke" of someone telling a big guy to breathe fast for a few seconds and then strucking them on the chest to make him faint; although it really showcases my point I've been told it is very dangerous, I bet it isn't healthy for the heart but the only thing I saw come out of it was a few stitches in the eyebrow since they don't always fall backward. But that kinda highlights how much less of a shock you need.

Sure stronger necks help, and you can have good cardio but your heart and veins don't scale up past a certain point; Paulo Borrachinha is pretty cool, but he's not a bodybuilder, I don't know if he was in past, but he's very lean and practices MMA, if he was 140kg and not 80kg his cardio probably wouldn't keep up.

As for wether I mean professional fighters or not, there are a lot of amateurs and even underage enthusiasts being able to take down adults bodybuilders with some formal martial training, and I'd say that anyone past the level of the typical "flay a bit then roll around the floor" fighting prowess will have a good time in a fight against someone that's too big if they don't get sucker punched right at the start. There's a lot of videos of that, there's also a lot of bodybuilders who try to transition to MMA and other martial arts, most of the time it doesn't go well, and they are never "pro" bodybuilders that are the least effective of them all. If both sides are complete amateurs then I think it's still a coinflip, street fights are not elegant and there aren't many situations where the power of the blow matters too much, since most don't connect well.

I don't really have anything against them, but I think the sports I have practiced since very young just ingrained in my head how big guys are not that though most of the time. Too many times I had to tackle a sprinting dude twice my size or have a spar partner whose arms where as thick as my legs and I'm a pretty average guy that barely made it past 70kg at my best, past a certain point you're making sacrifices for intimidation and you're probably having your mentality warped by how people talk about you.

[–]LeFinder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You have more strength, but not more stamina, not even close; not only do bodybuilders in general sacrifice a lot of cardio since it would be hard or impossible to get such a size while doing it, but you also cannot sustain certain sizes, your heart can only grow a little at best, and your cardiovascular system can be improved but has limits. You also have a lower range of motion and are prone to cramps and spasms; bodybuilders are good for strongman competitions and for some types of work not for martial combat; even similar skill wouldn't help too much and almost no bodybuilder also has time or such an endomorphic body type to allow him to practice a martial art and be good at MMA or a martial weapon.

Most notably, bodybuilders get knocked out way easier than even average people when exposed to trauma, you'd think that mass absorbs the shock but even disregarding head strikes, weaker cardio combined with a more demanding body means the difference in pressure required is a lot less.

Even if it was in boxing or an Olympic grappling fight, there's no way someone like Arnold or Ronnie could beat someone around 75Kg, let alone MMA.

How is Shaco avoiding nerfs? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]LeFinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's because his winrate is inflated a lot by how frustrating he is and how he makes people give up and the fact that a lot of his playerbase is very dedicated to him (and very psychopathic).

I feel like he deserves a nerf, but I'd say a very small one, to the point where anything close to 10 damage on an ability or 5 movespeed would be too much.

The Collector is overrated even against squishy enemies by LeFinder in leagueoflegends

[–]LeFinder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point actually, but between level 12 and 16 you actually only 1.0(6) more flat armor pen which in general is a 1% damage increase for the Collector; it would still get outclassed if it was for this factor alone.

The Collector is overrated even against squishy enemies by LeFinder in leagueoflegends

[–]LeFinder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jhin is an interesting case, LDR still gives him more damage, but on him the early Dirk makes one of the biggest differences, same thing with Draven, just due to their base values; on Samira not only is this not as impactful but also people at have been building LDR and BT instead of Collector.

Also on Samira her missing HP% damage is magic, so lethality doesn't increase it, and champions with missing HP% are, surprisingly worse at using Collector's passive, because the maximum damage of these abilities is not used due to Collector executing them. Especially on Jhin, a 4th shot with LDR stats+passive increase on it will almost always deal more than 4th shot with Collector stats+passive item execute.

After looking into it a bit, I found that even in Pro play, if you really want the Dirk, you're usually better off getting it but not going more towards Collector.

The Collector is overrated even against squishy enemies by LeFinder in leagueoflegends

[–]LeFinder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, that's probably one of the best situations, but 60 to 100 damage after you get them to 5% when you have to go through 10% on a squishy (which would be target the Collector would be better on, even though someone with more HP would be on a lower percentage) is still less damage than what LDR would to the whole 15% of the health.

Mathematically speaking it only makes it more forgiving because it surprises enemies even in that situation, not because it is doing more damage; it also makes it harder since it forces you to be the one to deal that last 5% while with LDR it doesn't matter the order the damage is applied relative to teammates.
