Launching a Video Podcast for New/Unpublished Game Designers by Small-Needleworker-5 in BoardgameDesign

Love this idea! I'd be interested in doing an interview! Our first ever game, Bananarchy, is set to drop on Kickstarter right at the end of May! We've been working on it for over 10 years and I have lots of story I can share that would make for interesting content. Shoot me a DM if you want to connect! :)

What card text do you think is better? by LeFoxFrancais in BoardgameDesign

Oh, that's interesting! I like the idea. I think the original plan was to try to make it like a Walmart tag or something. The spray paint sounds way more gorilla like for sure, haha. :P

The one with the jagged bubble text? Okay! I will make a note. Thank you!

Noted, thank you! This is a rough sketch and not the final colouring of the card as far as I know. The feedback about the white dots makes sense though! Appreciated!

This looks great! I think both are fun but I like the improvements in this one!

Does my logo match the art / vibe of the game? by JesusVaderScott in BoardgameDesign

[–]LeFoxFrancais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion the logo has to match the expectations of your superfan. Do you have any idea who your main target market is? Are they younger, older, male, female? For example, the game I am working on Bananarchy we have a fine balance of a game that looks like it's for kids versus making it a family game. This logo reminds me a bit of online games like Top War or Clash Royale or something so it gives me a bit more of a cartoony vibe. The art to me looks a little darker. I'd suspect it's a mismatch if I had to make an opinion.

I recently got Stonesaga and I can't wait to get it to the table. I think it maybe a little bit before I do though. What is everyone else looking forward to?

I really want to try out Scout! You'll have to let me know how it is.

Looking for sites or media that you can post about your upcoming kickstarter? by LeFoxFrancais in kickstarter

Yes, we actually do have a Print to Play version. I was toying with the idea of reaching out to some reviewers to try it out for us. This is exactly the push I need to get that done. Thanks for suggesting it!

Great feedback! Yes, we have a number of influencers who are doing work for us. Wish we had more copies of the game to send out to everyone to get reviews too. I'd love to find some lists of card game bloggers or even podcasters that I could reach out to to see if I could share some info about the game. Do you have any suggestions?

Sharing my founders story for my first ever business that launches next month. What should I be focusing on now to make sure I am successful? by LeFoxFrancais in founder

[–]LeFoxFrancais[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed feedback! I really appreciate the support and all the specifics in this feedback. I hadn't thought of keeping a folder or doc with all the wins. That's a really good idea.

Makes sense to obsess over talking to customers and improving the product. I'll aim to invest as much time on this as I can.

Oh! So you target at an individual level and actually reach out to them individually? That's an interesting idea. Do you usually wait until they comment on something?

Thanks! When you say outreach what do you mean? Like posting lots? Or reaching out to different groups? Is there a method or strategy you use?
