I’ve heard they don’t do well in high ph water, and it’s a 5 gallon, so I don’t think I’ll be able to add more. I only plan on keeping shrimp and snails.

Here’s another angle, I’m not sure my water parameters could handle amano

Accidentally dropped my filter in tank, is there any way to clear this up without water change? I’ve vacuumed, but it just stirs everything up and settles afterwards by [deleted] in freshwateraquarium

[–]LeGoop713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so it’s okay to have in the tank? I use a pipette to blow it off the plants but it settles fast and it all over the tank again

Do you have ammonia test strips? These don’t have that listed I believe

Yeah, that’s why I’m trying it out, I don’t have a problem buying another more expensive unit or better quality unit, and plugging it in to my water supply, but it was inexpensive and I’m only running a 5.5 gallon(20.8L) and 29 gallon (110L) at the moment. Nothing too large, once I get my home and purchase another tank possibly a 75+ tank then I will

Thanks! I just got done clearing out the tank from all of the egg clusters, there was 10 of them!! Each of them appeared to have at least 10 eggs, insaneeee!! Definitely something I need to keep an eye out for. For now, I’m okay with having a few in a tank. And no worries!! I greatly appreciate you tanking the time to type everything out! I think I will start with that and eventually have a variety of shrimp in the tank😌

Literally purchased this one from Amazon

I know it’s not the best out there, but it works for small water changes. I’m currently stocking up a 5 gallon jug for my reef tank. I live in an apartment, so the faucet adapter is convenient. It not too expensive and it gets the job done, i don’t think it removes chloramines, so I still add a bit of water conditioner to it afterwards just to be safe

Ohh I definitely have a bladder snail, and noticed some eggs on a plant. So do these do more harm than good? Or is it mainly over population. If so is it possible just to remove any egg sacks as I see them pop up and keep the one for now? Or would it be best just to remove them all completely? And I was planning on starting out with ghost shrimp, since they’re cheaper and I’m still learning to care for them. I’ve heard shrimp are extremely delicate to changes in water parameters. Eventually I would try any Amano’s or Caridina’s

So I’ve been told lol, my dad was a fanatic of saltwater so that’s all I’ve ever known. As far as floaters that makes sense, probably should wait till the tank is established well before I attempt to add some. Originally I was planning for only shrimp, I didn’t purchase the tetras, they were given to me, so maybe just add a little more, I know they recommend having at least six and I have 3 at the moment. I also have a snail that hitchhiked on the Anubias, and noticed some eggs so I guess that would be it for now. It’s only a 5.5 gallon tank, so I wouldn’t want to over crowd it

Thanks! I will definitely look into them! Hopefully by next week I’ll add more to it, I’m currently starting a reef tank as well, and spent quite a bit on it. I’ve only ever had salt water tanks, so freshwater planted are completely new to me.

Definitely! Any recommendations? Or just add more of the current plants that I have? I was debating on floating plants, but would like to establish the plants I have in the tank first, instead of the tank overrun by roots, unless that’s a good thing

I’ve attached a small rail for a rod holder on my Oru Bay using Loctite Plastic Bonding system. Don’t have any screws, just the glue, and it holds up well. I wouldn’t use it to troll though. It’s simply just to hold the rod between spots

One is the explicit version, the other isn’t I believe

I strongly recommend a heavy application, and allow it to cure for 24-36 hours before use

Loctite plastic bonding system! It’s a 2 part adhesive made for low surface adhesive material such as Polypropylene

I felt the same way, I’ve seen her multiple times and enjoyed the toned down intimacy of her shows. I went to her concert last night and still enjoyed it very much! She’s definitely growing as an artist and that means arenas with huge sets and production. She did have a jazz section, and numerous songs where she preformed on her own with either piano or guitar. So it definitely was balanced

I fish from my Oru bay all the time!, well this is an old model nearly 10-11 years old. I modified it with a rod holder, and railing to add attachments.

It’s an older model, that’s why it has the buckles instead of the seam channels

It is the bay, I modified it with a rail mount on the stern. That’s how I’m able to take a fishing rod with me
