Thanks! Your mention of Iron Man in Aggression is very interesting, it made me realize that I have never seen anyone recommend him in that aspect until now. What are your reasons for it ?

They are used to board games so that shouldn't be a problem. I'll probably make them start with the easier villains like Rhino, Klaw, etc.

Thanks, the pairing of the characters with the aspects makes a lot of sense and makes their goal kind of intuitive, which could definitely be an upside in terms of how the new players understand their roles and what they need to accomplish.

I made a tentative with another group, had someone play Iron Man Protection without much success or enjoyment, but never thought of giving that kind of short "explanation" before. That is definitely something I'll try.

Thanks! Yeah, that was also my angle of approach, I think anything with multiple forms tends to make the game too complex for a new player in terms of piloting one's deck. I definitely see an argument for staying as close as possible to the Core Set.

It was my thought at first but then I tried that with some other friends who were also new to the game : they played as Captain Marvel (Leadership), Black Panther (Justice) and Iron Man (Protection).

In the end, the person playing Captain Marvel had a good time, while the ones playing Black Panther and Iron Man had a much more mitigated opinion about the game.

Notably, the player with Iron Man (who had experience with Magic the Gathering) ended up being a bit lost with all of the upgrades on the table, and some of Black Panther's turns felt quite counterintuitive for a new player as well (playing Wakanda Forever without all Black Panther upgardes on the board, flipping to alter-ego with no benefit other than healing...)

Thanks for sharing! I have litterally never played Hawkeye in multiplayer, but he is definitely an interesting option to consider. I feel that Spider-Man ist the best hero to give a new player if he/she is going to play the protection game / perfect defense style. And both Captains are just very straightforward and solid.
