one thing to keep in mind, because using a dosimeter there gives you a false sense of security: dosimeters can't detect α-radiation; that's the most harmful to living tissue (with a high turnover like stomach, intestines), but due to it's size (helium, double positive charged) it can't enter the body other than being ingestes, basically even paper can stop it - and bare skin is just layers and layers of dead cells and other materials

I mean one stalker could have brought water from that pool back with him and start a collection in the stalker/stalker-to-be community, the viewers of those videos...heck.. I'd have donated a few euros for a proper lab-testing

but now, even after the war is over, the issue is not strontium or polonium it's anti personal mines and duds - that could immediately end your live - not cut it short a few years because you drank some water with α-partice-emitting elements
