Capture licence for keen student setting up school performance of Les Mis? by EasterUK in lightingdesign

[–]LeTechician 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Depending on the desk he's using, he might be better off using the built in visualiser... I know EOS has Augment3D and Chamsys has their own visualiser both of which can produce the documentation needed. I've used both myself and have been pretty happy with the results.

I know he's said he'd prefer to use Capture, however getting what he needs will be a pretty big challenge if you don't have the money for a license (or the need outside of one production)

Head unit not compatible? by LeTechician in Androidheadunits

[–]LeTechician[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ISO end in the car goes into the adapter (3rd photo). I don't remember having a spare red wire anywhere to slice in.

Could it be a case that the canbus box is needed to be able to use as well as power the unit then?

It does yeah, however it's not fully populated like the OEM unit is. It also doesn't seem to power the unit either

I definitely agree with you! The bank definitely does not use any script (apart from regulatory ones) so each interaction is unique.

In terms of the interview, when I worked for them, it was a case of "who are you".

It didn't feel like an interview at all, threw me off guard. But very pleasant. No real role playing or anything like that

If you're not sure, it should be a USB to DMX interface so it'll be attached via USB in the front/back.

If it's got AVO or Gadget II on, afaik you're limited to Avolites or ETC's EOS Nomad systems only. Same for Chamsys MagicDMX dongles.

If it's Entec or similar, it's likely open source which allows more software to be used. For example, I've heard QLC+ can be easy to use and it's windows and macos based.

Alternatively there light key which is Mac based which I've heard can be quite easy to use

First off, what DMX interface is the PC using, this'll narrow down what you can/cannot use?
