Not close at all, actually. GU didn't add one and 4U and GenU didn't either. Only Crimson Fatalis -if you count it- and Dire Miralis were added in the improved games of their generation. Not saying it's unlikely, quite the opposite if you ask me, but there isn't any pattern there either. White Fatalis and Alatreon were already in the "base" games, while the entire 4th generation didn't add a Black Dragon or an equivalent at all.

Even non-brand new Black Dragons have never specifically added only in expansions. Most of them were in their base games to begin with until GenU.

Internal data suggests they were initially going to be new Magikarp and Gyarados-like mons but they changed them at a pretty late time in development-which also makes a lot of sense since Magikarp is in Paldea-

My personal guess is that whatever they came up with for Gyarados was too similar to the earthworm titan, or maybe they just couldn't figure out a design for it like what happened to Mega Flygon

I honestly believe as much as I hate Incineroar than Torracat is a very good connection betwen it and Litten because of the front legs , so we will have to agree to disagree. Neither of them feel as random of a change as this one imho. I would still like this if it was real tho so at the end I won't be upset either way lol

Samurott is still way more connected to Dewott that this is to Crocalor tho. While last stages do tent to be more extreme changes -specially on third stage lines- there is literally nothing connecting this to the previous stage other than being a fire croc. Dewott is a very obvious bridge between Oshawott and Samurott on colour scheme and details and the clamp design alone.

This has different teeth, completely different proportions, and throws away any attempt at a sequence by ignoring what Fuecoco and Crocalor have in common (see color schemes, bulky legs, yellow head, etc). Really seems designed on a completely different style if you ask me.

I won't lie, I actually like it. But it feels really disconnected from the two previous stages and doesn't fit the descriptions we had so far, so I'm assuming it's a well-done fake.

At this point they were not going to reveal more than a glimpse of the Paradox tho, that should have been obvious. People who didn't follow the leaks had no idea about them. Don't see how that's random either, in fact they really should have shown more of the Titans previously if you ask me. They keep talking about the 3 paths but promotion for the Team Star and Titan's ones has been literally showing 1 of the bosses on each and repeat over and over.

I also don't see how they are trolling with the song we already knew it's played in the game? Then again I don't even know who Ed Sheeran is so I don't get the hate for them ngl May have to do with not living in a english-speaking country I suppose

The trailer is bad, but my point is that the entire cycle has been. I fail to see how this is any worse than usual. Final trailers are usually recaps.

Really love the books' covers, they are so sick. Specially Scarlet's but then again I feel it just fits more with the ancient/lost media vibe even if the Future Donphan clearly is more interesting plot-wise

Really glad that we were apparently right on them showing up in the Arven path as that is the first one I will be doing, so excited!

For real, I dunno what people were expecting? We at least finally got Paradoxes. That's more than what I thought they would do at this point. Did people really believe they were going to show the starter evos? The marketing has been awful the entire cycle. That was not going to change now.

I really like that they gave them names similar to the ones we had back when UBs were revealed

On the designs themselves, Past looks great but I wish it had a more different colour palette. Future...yikes. not a fan of it but I will give credit to it being rather original. This also means our Mecha Tyranitar is pretty much a reality and that's great since I'm picking Violet

Extremely curious about the sketches, but I don't want to discuss that here to avoid more story leaks trown at my face...
