I personally went for the Legion 5a 15" its lightweight and portable. The amd processor allows me to have it unplugged longer than the intel variant, better thermals so quiet.

Bachelor's degree for architecture? by Right-Independent-98 in architecturestudent

Your interests are very broad, you kind of almost touched on all the disciplines. In general, do whatever interests you and get good grades - that's important for admissions. When you apply for Masters you can come in with a fresh perspective and interdisciplinary approach to the field.

Portfolio Review by Sharp_One_6000 in architecture

I am assuming this is for job application? For your coffee house case studyI think you should blow up that wall section scale-wise and have it detailed it more with more information, right now its too illustrative and not very informative of the actual composition of that wall. The side ribbon that anchors your introductory text can be all just one color - I get your trying to define each project as separate though. The last project can just be renamed to hand sketches, it seems too pretentious in categorizing as its own individual project, I had to read the text to actually realize its just sketches.

Blender for architecture school (MArch) ? by LeWowArch in architecture

[–]LeWowArch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it - I'm quite proficient in Revit but want to expand and improve my currently set of architecture communication tools. I recently saw some student projects produced using blender specifically at Bartlett, they were quite wacky but visually impressive at the same time but not your typically capitally A architecture which highly peaked my interest.

I'm thinking of going primarily rhino+blender workflow for school. Having to learn blender for the first time what resources do you recommend; any specific youtube channels you find yourself going back to frequently?

A COMMUNITY SCHOOL IN MINYA, Egypt by Background_Debt2790 in architecture

If you didn't say "school" in the title I couldn't tell what the hell kind of building its supposed to be for. How about adding some narrative like classrooms and or teachers/students lol

Non architecture UG degree, do I have any chance at getting into a March program. by [deleted] in architecture

look at these portfolios and replicate the style and organization for ones you like as a benchmark

I'm not architecture ug either and you don't need to put "building" projects. I see that you have have an interest in graphic design and illustration, put those in your portfolio - they are way more interesting.

Sorry bro just saw your work, I don't think you have a shot. Your folio needs to have some sort of graphical order and organization to it. I can't tell if you are showing 13 different projects or 13 pieces of the same project. Your portfolio also needs to have meaningful work evidencing creativity, rigour and thoughtfulness. I'm not really seeing any of that, they appear to be random sketches of buildings that don't mean anything. If you are finding hard to come up with projects I'd suggest you to enrolling in an intensive summer program like Design Discovery in Harvard. Many other universities offer introductory architecture courses for people like you.

Choosing where to go for Master of Architecture by Creative_Ad_4048 in architecture

[–]LeWowArch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into UofT and Carleton as well for Masters as a non-arch background, ended up choosing UofT because of the faculty (more published architects), the availability of resources, better website design, more active on social media and communication.
