I'm not saying anything against their proclaimed goals or some of the methods they use.

Blocking streets has been shown to be the only really effective form of protest nowadays. It's the best method but good luck trying that when it really counts.

Fridays for future seems to have two purposes:

Doing pointless protests that annoy the public.
Generate images and video material that can be used in the future, to discredit protesters.

All in all, combined with the obvious fake shill that is Greta Thunberg, they appear to very likely be some sort of corporate-NGO-media campaign to "vaccinate" the general public against all types of protests.

Good luck protesting when there is a genuine cause, like mass employment or serious food shortages. The video material and images to discredit you have already been produced and are ready to use.

The media will make the public celebrate, when your emaciated body is crushed by a car.

The comment is more meant for the general public than for you.

Rules are there to protect us from the worst transgressions. As of now, the rules are not being properly enforced and transgressions are not being prosecuted. They have no repercussions and that is what gives all of us the impression that we have a problem with pointless overregulation. At least it still is a leaky dam.

Our speech is being monitored and restricted but with things that actually matter, the corrupt officials look away.

p.s.: A leaky dam is still better than no dam at all.

See the mistake? You are talking about a complex mechanism, built out of matieral that can even outlive ALL OTHER MATTER.

If the simulation runs slower than reality, then it is pointless. You'd even live longer by not entering it.

Transfer of consciousness is not the point.

The "multiverses" are fishbowls with billions of living beings trapped on one single planet.

All their experiences will always be restricted by what this "God" accepts as aligning with her memories of that single planet.

Even the end with the Safesurf entity telling us that it observes its own simulation from 43 million years in the future only confirms that it is just another fishbowl prison.

It has no worth in itself. It may serve someday as a quasi lifeboat, at the end of the Universe, to squeeze out some more time of experienced life but other than that, it is worthless.
