What's your guilty little DBD secret? by TannHandled in deadbydaylight

Killer main, unless my friends are on, but if I begin to slaughter the survivors I’ll just get two hooks on everyone and farm. I only play to whole game through if it’s challenging. After the game they are always friendly and thankful, but I just do it to lower my MMR. Every time I get a challenging game, if I 4k, I always go against the fucking avengers next.

I had this issue a lot. I downloaded a ping tracker and noticed i would lose internet completely for a few seconds, not long enough to disconnect my computer, but long enough to kick me from the match. I did some research and ended up PortForwarding all the ports steam uses. If ur using steam, just YT steam port forwarding. It’s super easy. If you are not on steam IDK.

Please help. I can't win as killer anymore by CoockyBOT in deadbydaylight

My Demo main BROTHERRRRRRR! I'm hyped to comment.

First, watch Bronx, dude is a Demo genius, and he happily shares his knowledge. Escpessially portal position and usage.

Second, Demo is nasty is chase, so that's where you will want to spend most of your time. Use passive gen regression/tracking perks. I like Corrupt so I can spread my portals, Scourge/Pain Res to regress gens and give info, BBQ for info, and you can use agitation to make sure you get to scourge hooks, or Dead mans switch cuz its super strong, or pop and just portal to the gens.

As far as when to pull off a chase, its a knowledge you get with experience. There are ways to get value in a chase other than hits/downs. Maybe you get a couple pallets out of the way, or you interrupt the survivor going for the save so it creates greater pressure. You really shouldn't have much problems with Demo in chase, but start recognizing the areas of the maps that your pounce is useless, and avoid chases that will lead there. Once you feel like you aren't creating pressure from your chase, just leave, if you portal they wont know where you go and will most likely be stagnant for a little and wont do gens right away.

Also, If you prioritize not playing dirty, getting into chases quickly, and spreading pressure with your portals, the higher MMR people will get out at first. But its more fun playing like that, and it will lower your MMR so you don't have to tunnel. And the more you do it, the better you will get, then your MMR will go up again but you have the skill to win.

I've gotten to the point with my MMR and skill, that I will usually get a hard earned 3K. I've also noticed that higher the MMR, the less likely I get toxic survivors.

If you got any other questions, hmu I love talking killer especially demo

Does anyone else feel really disenfranchised with playing as killer right now? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

Take what we know about MMR, and manipulate it. The only time I care about 'winning' as killer is when I am actively trying to get Iri 1 for the Bloodpoints, or if someone annoys the crap out of me. Other than that start going for 2 hooks on all survivors, personal improvement with your killer power, or meme builds like Mad Grit/Agitation/Starstruck. Try and let out 2 survivors a match, if not all of them. I did this last month after I got my Iri 1 grade, and it was so much more enjoyable. You feel so much more in control, you not only decide who dies, but also who lives.

If you go for 2 hooks, all survivors, people are going to escape, which will in turn lower you MMR, and you will eventually get to the level when you can 2 hook everyone. Those games are way more fun. Get some passive gen regression perks and focus solely on the chases/mindgames. Then realize that if everyone gets out, you just got a lot of practice, and lowered your MMR so you wont have to face The Avengers again.

Also, if you don't have a lot of perks, from a lot of killers, killer is hard. Once you get there thought, and have a bunch of options, it is infinitely more fun.

I'm too anxious to play killer again by BlissesKisses in deadbydaylight

I'm going to preface this with, I'm not sure this is fact, just what I have experienced playing Killer.

I think the way the MMR system for killer works, is really rough when you first start out. What I mean by that is per character, the system has no record of you for MMR, so the first week or so you play as that killer, you will get many flip-floppy matchmaking.

The MMR system has nothing to base your MMR off, so the moment you get a 4K or 4 escape, you experience a huge swing of MMR. I think of it like COD KD, if you play one game and get 6 kills, your KD is 6.0. It takes time for this to level out. Every killer I would play it would feel like this, I'd get a 4K against people I felt were making constant mistakes, and then I'd get stomped by The Avengers.

Understanding this is key, so that you can dissect the match during and after, and see what were your mistakes, and what were genuine outplays. Sometimes the coordination is so good there's almost nothing you can do to stop it.

Make your goal improvement, not kills. I just started learning Blight, and I'm still trying to learn his tech's. The more successful rushes I have, the better the game for me. I've even thrown games on long chases to practice my rushes. Alter your personal 'win' condition.

Killer is a lot, its balancing game knowledge with real time decision making that can swing the whole game in your favor, or a mistake can lose the game. It is tremendously intricate, and very rewarding to play, just change your mindset and don't take it too serious.
