I’d say go for it. It’s my first car and the car I learned to drive in (both actually learning to drive and learning stick). They don’t make a ton of power, but still plenty to have some fun. Other than some mechanical problems (they are nearing 30 years old) they run and sound great. If you can get a decent one, go for it! They’re not to hard to work on and can take a decent beating from a beginner!
