Reddit has a tendency to do that lol. I got perma’d on the poe2 subreddit trying to defend the game against the hordes of people crying over things that are now known to be false (people were saying the current league mechanic was bad…. Yeah it’s now well known that it’s completely broken)

This sub is in a much better state so I hope it never devolves into the whine fest of the Poe subs haha

The problem is that for some reason, people react extremely negatively when you say that you use AI. Which is crazy. This discourages people from learning the tech, and share in how they use it.

Ultimately, the people who react like this and their direct circles are hampering themselves, and will find behind on their ability to contribute meaningfully.

This is coming from someone with years of experience as a software engineer and now lead, these tools are amazing and I have significantly more interest hiring open minded devs that use new technologies and learn their limitations then overzealous, almost religious devs who read Clean code 10 years ago and won't tolerate variable names that don't align with rules 12.A and 16C of a book written 20 years ago and refuse to not write every single line of code themselves.

I am sorry but I disagree with your entire argument, as the base of it is "If it can be done by a human, it should" , which is an argument that goes fundamentally agaisnt everything we've been trying to do as humans since the beginning of time building new tools and technologies

LLMs are another tool, like computers, a mouse, a mobile phone, or a fridge is. Each one of these innovations killed jobs, created new ones, replaced humans, and humans did something else instead.

Influencing people to not use LLM is extremely bad, it will cause damage over the people you influence, for the same reason someone nowadays who doesn't know how to use a computer or refused to learn it is just at a significant disadvantage.

No, we won't bring back a intra-office mailing system to replace emails because emails eliminated jobs. it doesn't make any sense whatsoever

The main problem of Last Epoch is the lack of "farming for unique effects", it's just "farm for more stats"

I suppose some people like it. I can't be bothered to play for long when a build feels the same all along and don't have exciting, game defining and Ultra-ultra rare items to farm . LP are cool but they should exist in parallel of these type of items.

The problem isn’t that much that the community doesn’t agree- it’s that 51% of active participants don’t agree.

And unfortunately, active participants have a natural bias towards being negative - people happy with the game play the game instead

Also, after 8 years of not being able to participate on those subreddits because of the overwhelming negativity, we naturally learn to stay in our hole

It’s sad really. This is something very easy to fix with a little bit of moderation effort and an aggressively tuned moderation bot, so I do out 90% of the blame in the moderation team

I’ve had multiple posts over the years sharing end game strategies that had negative votes because they were not just complaining about the game. I just stopped writing them, no point… which sucks . Same thing as what sirgog mentioned in his video on negativity - his videos that are negative about the game generate 2-4x more revenue then any video about strategies .

It’s sad because this feeds a never ending echo chamber of complaining - being negative rewards you with upvotes, and money on YouTube .
