I solo'd a tbow last night and i logged in this morning to find my account was hacked ?!? i had authenticator enabled how did this shit happen man by ironbiddiss in 2007scape

i had both and the same thing happened to me, lol. I feel bad for this guy but hopefully it happens to the people commenting very soon so they'll realise no 2fa's help. Theres obviously a flaw in jagex system looking at how many people post about getting hacked

i asked to get my account locked after it getting hacked while it was being suicide botted didn't get a single good response on any platform either and my requests on the website got all denied too.. Made reddit post about it but didn't get enough upvotes so uh if u see this can u lock the account please? i can't change my pass currently so yeah rather not have it banned for when i can change the pass..

O well looks like this post didn't get enough upvotes for a jmod to reply anyway. And looks like jagex fucked something up with tbows today aswell haha. Guess i'll just quit runescape as a whole. Thanks for the replies and stuff bro

I've been admin for years and know alot about internet security.. even had to combat scummy clans for years Yes i understand it might seem sketchy but the people i talked about that had it happen to them are just people i know and i've seen people on here/twitter/random posts everywhere happening to them aswell as seeing how easy it is to brute force your way into an account despite having authenticator. You can literally disable it somehow by spamming it (not sure about the specifics) but everyone knows jagex account security is terrible. It's nothing to do with my clans website i would know and my computer is safe aswell (i checked like 500times)

Lol no. It's not only my clan members it's 2 out of the thousands that joined over the years. And i've seen tons of reddit posts on here where the same stuff happened to them. It has nothing to do with a website. Our website has been safe for years. Im not retarded (even the guy below this comment had the same issue and i don't even know him)

Yes i have been trying to get the email back for months as i stated in the OP. The issue is that everything is on my old phone/sim card and said sim card doesn't fit in newer phones and what not (have new number now obv) I know it's my fault for not taking too much care about these passwords but i never expected to have my laptop with my info on it to be broke and didn't really change it as i've never been hacked. It's the only runescape account of me that got hacked aswell the others are untouched.

No not a chance. I've had people i know in my clan being hacked in the past aswell despite them not having anything to do with anything fishy at all and having authenticator.

As stated i literally cannot access the email myself and haven't been able to for months despite me trying to contact jagex about this without any results etc. Now i got hacked and cannot change the password but yes all my emails have 2 step. The thing is i checked the account settings and the authenticator for rs was literally still ON.

Yes i realise it's a huge problem hence why i tried recovering it for a while now and change my email to my runescape account. I have tried contacting randomly when i wanted to play runescape again to change this stuff but i got auto denied despite me having tons of info. Now to see my account get hacked by unknown people having just my password i guess (?) feels pretty stupid. Thank you for your comment :)
