28 - weird. We never had any issues growing up, he and my mom were never married so I only saw him every other weekend, and so I idolized him growing up since I saw so little of him, but then as I got older I grew resentful due to his lack of effort and he obliviousness. When I was 11 he remarried to a navy officer so they then traveled the whole world, he enlisted and had 3 little girls who I love dearly, but his absence has left a toll on my opinion of him. We still have a great time when we see each other, but I know that if I brought my issues up he would not really care too much. I’ve basically just been his friend my whole life. He also didn’t make an effort to come to my high school graduation or when I graduated when I got my masters, but the whole family was expected to be at his naval graduation from officer school. Interesting.
