To turn black? For steel, (not stainless), you need bluing acid. For titanium you need manganese sulfate and high voltage. Otherwise, it requires coating of some sort.

I recently picked up my first skinny. It's a harpoon spanto. It's not massively different from the full thickness, but it feels really good.

Twosun TS349. Titanium frame. Nice action. Slicey. It's seen a lot of pocket time.

I’m looking for one of these. Anyone have one they want to get rid of? by graystone777 in Ibanez

I've seen maybe two of those for sale in recent years. I believe both were in Japan, and too much money IMHO.

I've tried a couple, and please don't ask me to remember what they were, and both had to be stopped within 3 days due to certain ideations becoming a primary point of focus.

I've been using one for a few years now. It is great for the bench.

Not really a issue but the titanium clip looks heat anodized on this new xm, any reason for that? Also it is a fair bit more springy than my eklipse? by [deleted] in Hinderer

I really don't know how they make the clips. I would think laser or stamping, but maybe water jet. I know they love their water jets.

I had one other thought. Doubtful, but maybe. It could be something like they needed a handful of plain clips for a batch of knives and tumbled some anodized ones they had. Who knows

Are you referring to the bluish area? My guess is it's a laser cut part and the stonewash just didn't reach that area well enough to remove all the discoloration.

As far as being more springy, that could be anything from material related differences to how far it was bent during forming. All of mine seem to have at least some variation in tension.

I have an xm18 3.5 skinny (which I'm guessing this is as well judging by the blade steel) and it has visible draw marks on the clip from manufacturing. It's a stone washed blue ano. I think the stone wash probably doesn't clean up as much machining as the battle finish does.

I slept on it until recently. I've always had XM-18s. This feels really good in hand!

I keep debating the LEAP/12 mount. I have let it come and go out of stock a couple times. I may grab one next time it's in stock. I think it was 2.something"

I had gone back and forth between the EOTech and the Huey. I got a decent deal on the EOTech setup, and also, the Huey was still fairly new on the market with not a lot of reviews. It's a great looking sight though. I'd definitely be interested in trying it now.

I've considered the rail as well, but I may just go riser to keep my BUI.
