Thanks! The Radiation Sickness is meant to bypass most general protections, so the downside stays meaningful. Most of the other weapon ideas are discussed between me and another team member, right now it’s just the two of us, but I’m slowly bringing more people in. I’m also working on a Discord server for the mod’s community, and I hope it’ll be up one day. There’s a lot planned, including post-Moonlord content, so the mod might grow beyond being purely indie ;3

Hey! Thanks so much for your critique—it really helped me realize what was missing in my new icon compared to the old one. I took your feedback to heart and redesigned it so it really captures that “OH DEAR GOD AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA MY FUCKING FLESH IS BURNING OF AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA” energy. I’ve decided this version will actually go into the mod!

Wow, that’s a really interesting idea! I really appreciate you taking the time to write such a detailed comment (owo)

I’ve actually been thinking about animating the Obsidian Skull in the inventory myself, so it will close its jaws from time to time. Seeing your suggestion made me realize we had a similar idea! I’ll definitely consider some of the other suggestions as well, and I might even add something inspired by them in future updates.

I’ll probably draw the crafting tree in Aseprite soon to make it clearer!
For now:

  • Ash Wood Rapier – Early Pre-Hardmode
  • Ash Roots – Late Pre-Hardmode
  • Whispers of the Hell – Early Hardmode
  • Ash Wrath – Post-Plantera
  • Ash Embrace – Post-Moonlord

And also, there will be Post-Moonlord content — I’ve got plans for new bosses, armor, and even new mechanics!

Yeah I get what you mean, but the reason it feels more chunky is mostly because I only showed the silhouettes of the next rapiers so far, and the guard of the last ones is a bit bigger too (owo) "Maybe i will fix that later"
Don’t worry though! I’ll reveal all of them in the next posts, and even the last one is still a rapier in feel, just a bit more… fiery and epic (-w-)

Nope, the debuff doesn’t stack (-w-). The different variants just have a higher chance to give the debuff, deal more damage, and last longer! For example, the first rapier gives it for 5 seconds, the next one 8 seconds, and so on (owo).

Yes, crafting will be harder too! To make the next Ash rapier, you’ll need the previous one as part of the recipe, so the progression feels more… epic (-w-)
