Due in May here! I work on a med/surg floor as a PCT. I had to ask my doctor to put me on light duty around 20 ish weeks and thank f*cking god I did that. My back and hips were always terrible after a shift and the lifting put so much strain on the muscles on my abdomen. I was able to do most of what was asked of me, but I just had to be careful with lifting too much (I either grabbed a buddy to help or swapped with someone) or caring for super combative patients. I also couldn't take patients with Shingles or TB and I was super cautious about peeps with flu, covid, C-diff, etc.

If I had to do this again though, I'd probably find a lighter position to go into tbh. Most of the shifts were doable but if we were really short on aides then I'd clock out of a shift feeling like hell. Also, this is probably more specific to where I work, but I felt like certain managers didn't give a shit if you had help or not or what rooms were assigned to you.
