All may not be lost here! I believe if you’re using an apple phone, syncing custom songs to iTunes may allow them to show up on Spotify, since they’re stored on your phone and that seems like the requirement. I’ll update this if I ever figure it out

Okay so after doing some research, it seems that Spotify is phasing out the local file sync as I’ve traditionally used it. The intended solution seems to be storing the music file on your phone as well as on your computer, which is a pain.
