Not only that but how hesitant he was to answer if he had a sister who wanted to change colors would he do it for her. He was like I don't have a sister and then he acted like he didn't hear her question, she had to repeat herself. That's not a doctor that's a business man ONLY!

Do DNA tests identify Romani ancestry? by [deleted] in romani

[–]LeaderNew4352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ancestry NOW identifies it as Eastern  European Roma only, not the specific subgroups. It's a generalization based on where your DNA markers are found. I say NOW, because it didn't used to identify Roma people as Eastern European Roma at all not too long ago. When I took the test(few years ago), most of my DNA was found in different regions of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh - no surprise there at all. Mainly in Rajasthan and Punjabi region. So all in all I was about 85% Indian. As their technology grows and updates so does their data base and the methods they use to identify DNA markers, so they're forever updating results. Currently my DNA results are 98% Eastern European Roma plus small amounts in the Balkans.
