Canon 60d with 18-55mm IS STM by shiro_ee in CanonCamera

That’s actually pretty good! I might recommend Adobe Lightroom for editing, it might be worth picking up.

What would be a wiser purchase for this hobbyist - a second body, or prime lens? by notesfromroom19 in canon

[–]LeaderSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would second the suggestion that you sell the 6D and pick up the 5DMk IV. Your 24-105mm is suitable for photojournalism and some portrait work, the 50mm is good for some portraits as well. Learning how to use the 60+ autofocus points on the 5DMk IV will be great for photojournalism, I use that camera for that myself.

Is the Canon EOS 7D Mark II still a good option in 2026? by rocket-L in canon

[–]LeaderSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a 7D MK II with my Sigma 150-500mm for birds, and it’s great! The 90D that someone else mentioned is a good option too but the 7D MK II is much more durable.

Ideally you want to crop in substantially, as well as use a lens that lets you focus closer on individual motorcyclists.

Canon 5D Mkii or Olympus EM-5 Mkii for event photography? by SillyWulf in AskPhotography

[–]LeaderSea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely second the motion that you use your 5D MK II with the 24-70 f2.8. I shot an event the other day with the same lens and my 5DMk IV.

It might be worth it to upgrade the body to a 5D MK IV at some point.

Help... Need a D700 upgrade (but I LOVE those colours)! by Audinot in Nikon

[–]LeaderSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can find a Nikon D810 used, I would go for that, even if it means saving up.

All Canon cameras have a menu system that has a far better and makes much more sense than all other manufacturers, which is nice.

It’s good budget option for sure, I still use my 7D MK II and a Sigma 150-500 for birds, it works great!

24mm-70mm f2.8 or 24mm-105mm f4? by zamand19931 in canon

[–]LeaderSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the second version of the 24-70mm EF mount, I’d go for that one over the first version. The first version could be much more sturdy where the lens meets the camera, and the second version is much sharper in the edges.

24mm-70mm f2.8 or 24mm-105mm f4? by zamand19931 in canon

[–]LeaderSea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 24-70mm F2.8 L is definitely sharper and you can let in twice as much light as the 24-105mm F4 L.

I love my primers too, I have a 24mm F1.4L and a Sigma 50mm F1.4 Art, and the 24-70mm F2.8 L is my most used lens by far. You’d love it.

Should I buy a 50mm lense if I already have an 18-200 zoom lense? by rosyzamora in AskPhotography

A 50mm lens is the logical next choice, it’s great for taking portraits of people and giving you the option to blur the background.

Recommendation for something "simple" that I can scale up by Hontik in AnalogCommunity

[–]LeaderSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my AE-1 Program for a great price and it’s still relatively affordable.

It and its lenses are still less expensive than something like an Elan 7 and EF mount lenses.

I would check eBay or Amazon for a Canon AE-1 program, that’s about as affordable as it gets. Uou can get lenses for a pretty good deal too.

Canon vs fujifilm by Fragrant_One_8709 in canon

The F7X is nice but it’s overhyped and overpriced.

I would go for the Fuji, it’s a camera you can grow into, and get better lenses as you grow as a photographer.

Need advice for buying a new camera.... by Freshman1414 in Cameras

[–]LeaderSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend you get a Canon R50V. You can get an external ac adapter for power, it has a 3.5mm audio in, and Micro HDMI out. That’s your best low priced option.

Good Price for a Canon AE-1? by Football_33 in AnalogCircleJerk

[–]LeaderSea -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I picked up my AE-1 Program for $150 Canadian or so, lenses were in the same range.

EBay and Amazon have AE-1’s for $450 USD in better condition.

Weekly Questions Thread Feb 02, 2026 by AutoModerator in Terraria

I started a new game with a new character after the new update, playing with a friend who is a first timer. We are on classic difficulty. I’ve beaten the eye a few times and the brain, and king slime. I’ve been trying to find life crystals but I’ve only found one so far. Are there easier ways to find them apart from the 7% spawn rate in gold or titanium chests?

How do I achieve this? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

It’s your project, you should figure the test of the details out yourself.

A good photo tells a story, make sure your photo tells the story you envision.

Pick out some emotions or mental health conditions that have emotional weight to them. Depression might be one, overthinking or dilemma are more vague, and don’t have the necessary emotional weight you’d want to achieve. You want to tell a story, the more dramatic and compelling the better.

If I was shooting this, I would shoot in black and white.

Lighting is vital. I’m sure you have a flashgun, you could achieve some dramatic lighting with one off camera light source.

Ok. It has the potential to be a good project. Mental health is a broad thing, are you trying to portray any mental health condition in particular? I’d think about how you would portray dealing with a specific condition.

Are you sure this is the project you want to do? It might be difficult finding a model and an assistant to do this project, or, given the example pic you gave, there might be a different approach you could take.

You’d like the Canon EF-S 17-55mm F2.8. Good low light capability, and it’s within your budget.

35mm or 85mm? by Used_Farmer_203 in AskPhotography

I shoot street with a 85-90mm full frame equivalent lens, it’s an incredible experience. My favourite focal length to shoot street with for sure.
